we just got back Sunday, our third trip to WDW. Great weather .....low attendance. FYI ....you MUST wear your shoes throughout the ride for KALI RIVER RAPIDS (this is new) and we purchased kid-meal vouchers (I forget what they are called), but they were a deal, the kids got a drink and meal for lunch, then later we used coupon for either ice cream bar or popcorn AND a bottle of water or soda ......for $5.99. Icecream is $2.50 and water is $2.50 so we thought this was a great value.

Have fun.

Thanks for the review, sounds like you had a wonderful time!! We use Connections Vouchers as well and they are a great way to save some money! :)

Welcome back! :)

Thanks for the review. It sounds as if you had a good time!!

that's really a bummer that you have to keep your shoes on with the Kali-river ride. :( :( You can get so soaked on that ride. If I had to walk around all day in squishy sneaks, I think I'd just skip it. I do really enjoy this ride especially when it's hot and the line is short. It's not like I'm going to want to carry a 2nd pair of shoes just for this ride. Thanks for the info though.

We always wear sandals when going to AK so that we don't have to bother taking off our socks and shoes and the fact that there never is room in that thing in the middle. I can't believe they are not letting you take off your shoes. You really do get wet on this ride. I am surprised no one is complaining.

We never take our shoes off for it and have never had a problem with our feet getting soaked. Just be sure you put them up on the bar in the middle and you'll be fine. They may get splashed, but not soaked. Even when I've gotten dumped on at the end, my feet weren't soaked.

Agreed, WDWguru, I put my feet on the ring as well and yes they do get splashed but not soaked

thanks

we only brought flip flops because we had a stroller, I agree I would not want to carry the shoes around all day. Just an FYI.

....based on your description I would say that these were the vouchers that you buy right in the park at Guest Services and not Connections vouchers, right? Did you feel that the adult vouchers were not worth the $$? Thanks for the heads up on Kali - DH wants to ride and I am afraid to get soaked! Sounds like a sandal day....:D

the were not connections vouchers. We purchased right at food counter. Coupons had to be exchanged day of purchase. We did not buy adult coupon, because we always finish the kid's icecream and popcorn any way. share the drinks. The adult coupons I think were $11.99. Probably still worth it, but keep it in mind. No problem exchanging coupons anywhere.
My husband was amazed I knew about the program & that it actually was a "deal" at Disney.
Have fun.

I've heard about this before but I need specifics. For example:
1)Where exactly do you buy these vouchers? At guest services? At a specific restaurant? At a counter service place? Where?
2)When you buy the "voucher" they give you "coupons"? Huh?
3)Is this offered anywhere besides AK?

Tell me all about it!

And thanks!

The program is only offered at AK. Also, the information that I have is based on what I read on Deb's site www.wdwig.com - under Dining - on the AK menus. I thought that you could buy the vouchers at the actual counter service restaurant as well Guest Services, and joloco just confirmed that. My DH is absolutely prepared to be amazed as I research our upcoming trip!!:D (amazed at how I can save $$ and still have a GREAT time!)

sonya -
you buy them at the food counter. You get your meal and drink for say...lunch. They also give you a card with two tear off coupons that are only good on day of purchase. one coupon is for either an ice cream bar (mickey bar or whatever) OR a box of popcorn. The other tear off coupon is for a beverage....bottle of water OR soda. They can be redeemed at the same time or separtly. We used a water coupon from a vendor inside Tarzan Rocks, got icecream from a portable place on the way out of Lion King, then got 2 sodas from a counter waiting for parade. It was very convenient. I was afraid we might have to go someplace "special" to get the extra's but you don't.

As far as I know AK is the only place with this offer. I would highly recommend it and I would make a point of doing it again.
Hope this helps.

Indeed AK is the only WDW park with this special offer sold in the park

Thanks
