Wondering...

Our flight in December is a Delta Connection flight. If something happens to Delta, since my flight isn't actually on one of their planes, would it possibly, be safe and I won't loose my money?

This is what I get for thinking I'm getting a good deal for the 4 of us to fly round trip, non stop, at the times that were perfect for us for just over $500.

I hear you...I have Dec Tickets too...now I am hoping they do not strike(of if they do, that some final outcome comes before Jetblue opens their December window).

I too got a good deal on Delta nonstop for 250 PP RT.I am very nervous and am really considering on trying to rebook and cancel my tickets.I hate the uncertainty.I am not going to even tell my kids about this, they would be so heartbroken and we all need a vacation.I am thinking of rebooking just for the peace of mind and not having to worry. :confused3

We too are booked on Delta for Dec. We got non stop for $203, then 2 days later they cancelled that flight & put us on a connecting flight, but it's still a decent rate for our area.

MammaNicholas, I may be wrong, but from what I read it will be the Delta Connections flights too - that's what we're on also.

On another thread bicker gave a very good explanation when I asked about this. It's post #20 on this thread

We are going May 13th on Delta so I understand how you feel.

My husband is a manager in a union plant. One thing to remember is that "voting to strike" does not mean a strike is imminent. There are ALOT of things that have to happen for the pilots to actually strike. The vote itself is really just a small blip in the whole negotiation process. I am not saying that there will not be a strike, but there are many more steps, negotiations, and legal processes that have to be taken before it would come to that. Both sides have an extraordinary amount to lose if the pilots strike and Delta folds. There is alot on the line here, and I just can't see it getting to that point.

We can all just hope for the best for all of the families involved in this while we try not to let it ruin our excitiment about our upcoming trips.

This is very true but in the mean time i will have my coffe pot working overtime for the next week. :surfweb:
Very stressful and nerve racking for all involved! :grouphug:

Agreeing with Pixiedust but feeling just like dpayne!

Don't they realize they're ruining our vacations! ;)

Yes it is sooooooooooo stressful,i dont know what to do or think.I cant afford to be out 4 RT tickets,as im sure most of you cant either.I dont know what i will do if i have to rebook.I would be willing to pay 50.00 PP to get on another plane providing we can all go together as they are just kids flying with me 1 of which has never flown before.Im sure i wont get any sleep for the next week over this.Yes i realize there is nothing we can do (although i will be praying extra hard on this issue) but still it is very very stressful just sitting and wondering "whats next?" "now what?" I wish us all some pixiedust and pray and cross all digits that this works out for all!!! :wizard:

Unfortunately, with the financial situation of the airlines today, you never which one might be striking or being bought out or filing bankruptcy next. I would hate to switch hoping to assure no problems and have there be something going wrong with the new airline. It's very depressing. :sad2:

Last January, USAirways was having a bunch of trouble (or at least leading up to last January) and I was worried about what was going to happen. OUr flights were codeshared with United and we were actually on United planes and flights, so I was reassured over and over by both United and USAir that we would be on our flights and they would go regardless of what happened to USAir. They would of course, need to accomodate all United customers first, but I was already ticketed for the flight so they weren't really able to sell my seat in any event. I would think the same would apply to you, but just keep checking. Wait to see how this all plays out first, it could just be a lot of posturing and acting tough, but when it comes right down to it, no pilots, means no flights, means no money and many unhappy customers, which will mean no Delta anymore which means instead of getting those pensions and payraises, they get no job any longer. Hang tight you have time.

Thank you all for your kind words of support.

I finally got some good news. My TA has been swamped with the Free Dining plan changes, but she was finally able to get back to me. She said we're fine, we got the insurance, so if something happens we're covered (and dh said it was a waste of money).

Ahh, now if my ds cooperates, I may get some sleep tonight.

We are supposed to fly down to Disney end of April via Delta and Song. I am not sure how everyone else feels, but for me the anticipation of a vacation at Disney is a part of our vacation. We get so excited talking about Disney and where we are going to eat and what our first ride will be etc. I can't help but be sad right now. I am not talking about our vacation at the dinner table anymore because I want to ease the disappointment that DS4 and DD2 are going to have if the pilots strike and we don't make it down to Disney this year. :sad2:

We too are in the "sad" boat, we get closer everyday to going home, and Delta has to ruin it all. We booked them because we saved over 100.00 a person, now I am wishing we would have paid that 100.00. I will still pray hard, and not give up hope, but its so hard to stay open minded with all of the talks going on.
