I recently had my first experience with the new rooms at Pop Century.

After seeing pictures and reading reports from Guests,I still wasn't sure if I would get the "I am in a Hospital room" feeling upon experiencing them firsthand.

I did.:)

My room felt so "sterile"-I kept expecting a Nurse to walk in at any moment and start an IV!!!!lol:)

The improvements in the new rooms are amazing:

LARGE TVs
Murphy bed
"Rain Shower"
2 "Barn Doors"
LOTS of storage space
"Electronic" safe
Coffeemaker
LOTS of USB ports
AWESOME mattresses and pillows
Awesome sink and sink area
Cool "make up mirror"
Shower doors

Disney, the only problem with these amazing new rooms you have put together is that you've got me walking past a FOUR STORY BIG WHEEL and then into a room almost completely devoid of "color" and "Disney theming".

The new rooms don't "fit in" with the over-the-top Disney theming of the Resort.

The Value Resorts are ABOUT over-the-top Disney theming.

Well, after my trip,at least I have now met my deductible for this year.:)

I love the new rooms! The Mickeys over the bed and Pluto in the murphy are just adorable! I think they're a lot more fun than the old rooms. IMO the old rooms had zero personality.

So far the only refurbished rooms I've felt were generic are the ones at CSR. They did a great job at Pop and YC.

I'm happy for the positive improvements but I'm not thrilled about the modern/all white look. I think it's great they finally have coffee makers and queen beds instead of fulls, it's about time!!

I really loved the new rooms, vast improvement. Prior to last 10 day stay I’ve only had 1 night stays before transferring to another resort.
I do agree the room could have more pizzazz. I think it’s the plain white beds that make it look like a hospital room. Bringing back bed runners and a throw pillow would go a long way for room decor. I’m not looking for over the top theming, I get enough of that in the parks and resort grounds. I love the Mickey over the bed. But the hospital looking plain white bed, ugh.

From the pics I've seen, the remodeled rooms at Pop, Coronado and Yacht Club all look the same! Plain white bedding, laminate flooring. I know they are starting on POR soon, I wonder if they will suck all the charm and theming out of those rooms too? :(

Seriously Disney, it's possible to update things without taking away all the charm that makes each resort unique!

To us it is like 2 different rooms in one. If you look at the wall with the beds, it's definitely Disney. But then if you look at the other walls its just bland. All they had to do was bring a little bit of that character to the other walls, and they could have did so much more with the boring bathroom doors. For a place that have "imagineers" they are not very imaginative with their room designs.

So coffeemaker...any coffee supplies??? when we stayed at Coronado Springs we had Joffreys coffee every day & milk/sugar replenished daily.
