After years of owning at AKV, I finally got to stay at Club level this past June. It was generally pretty nice. It was like others have pointed out. The savannah view from DVC club level rooms isn't very good. We were in the first room, and about half the view from the balcony was obstructed by the thatch overhang, the savannah itself was narrow.
The most bizarre thing about the trip was my experience with mousekeeping. Mousekeeping is every day on club level. Usually, I bring my own shampoo and body wash from home. This time, I forgot, and used the Disney toiletries. One day, mousekeeping left a whole bunch of half used bottles of toiletries of random types. We used them, of course, but, it just wasn't what I expected in a concierge level room in a deluxe resort. Now I guess I know what they do with the used bottles of shampoo that other people might leave when they check out. I have to say that if I had been charged extra for needing more shampoo or body wash, I would have been put out if given a half used bottle, however.

I would have called a housekeeping manager and refused to use someone else's half used bottles of shampoo.

Mayne it was a mistake? I can't imagine they would give you half used bottles. Another reason I will probably never stay on club level...

I thought it was kind of disgusting, in a restaurant-serving-food-returned-to-kitchen kind of way. We have food pantries around our area, and I wouldn't even donate a used bottle of shampoo to the pantry. But, we had three people who needed to shower and wash their hair, and the bottles only contain enough for maybe two shampoos, depending on how much hair you have and whether you need to suds twice. One day, there wasn't any left for my son. This was because I didn't notice that they had left three half bottles of conditioner, but only one of shampoo. As soon as I got home, I made it a point to get small bottles of shampoo and body wash for the next trip and put them in my cosmetic case.

That's strange. I have stated CL many times and have never had that happen. I would have complained.

I think a mistake was made with the half used toiletries. We've stayed club level 4 times and never had that.

This makes me reconsider ever staying CL at AKV. While I do think the half used bottles of shampoo etc was a mistake on behalf of mousekeeping, IMHO it's gross:scared: and I would have refused to use them and probably would've been having a nice convo with the head of mousekeeping about it. Anyway, that combined with the not so great view of the savanna will probably keep me away from CL.
