Hehe, we went to the mall today in search of holiday clothes and my son saw some pj's he liked at Gap. We let him see them, looked around and when we were done headed to the front of the store- the employees looked right at us, said "Goodbye, have a good night" we said "Thanks, you too" and out we went. We get to the next store and sitting right in his lap are two pairs of pajamas! LOL, I have no idea how NOBODY caught it, not us or the employees. I sent my husband back to return them and then thought- hey, that was $44 bucks worth of pj's we could have had! :teeth: JK... I will always remember to check the stroller now.

I always make dd hold out her hands so I can see them whenever we leave a store. She tries the 5 finger discount sometimes too. ;)

I actually did it myself once. We were in a bookstore and I put 2 books in the top of the stroller (the little awning thing that goes over) since it was folded up it was a great place to hold things. Well we were walking around the mall for awhile and we went to eat. I was folding the stroller up and noticed the books! I went back and paid for them after we ate, I felt so guilty, even after paying for them.

My daughter did this with just one shoe one time from a store. The least she couild of done was grab a pair!!!! :rotfl: I miss those days.

Hee hee. One time my mother walked out of a department store. Later, she discovered that a clothes hanger somehow had hooked itself on the back of her coat collar. It was attached to a pair of underwear. Thong underwear! :rotfl2: She must have been walking around like that for a half hour, and no one let her know. She doesn't wear thong underwear, so she was not able to take advantage of the purloined booty. He he!

My DS7 "stole" a Veggie Tale beanie baby from a BIBLE BOOKSTORE when he was a toddler! I didn't realize it until we got to the van and I was taking him out of the stroller. I was so mortified. What kind of little criminal steals from a bible bookstore?

We did go all the way back into the mall to return it tho!

You would think store employees would keep an eye out for strollers and kids... Good thing we're honest!

My niece stole from of all place WDW - AKL - it was maybe 4 years ago when she was like 4 or 5 - she took a Eeyore figure (small rubber thing) because she knew Eeyore is my favorite. My sister made her take it back to the store but the CM let her keep it because she wanted it for her aunt!!

When I was 3 years old, I wanted some gum. My mother said no, so I put it in my coat pocket. I got caught on the way home because I kept my hand in my pocket the whole time and mom noticed I was acting strangly. She made me pull the contents from the pocket and drove me back to the store. Mom made me apologize to the cashier for stealing (she made me use that word) the gum. Cashier looked at me and said "That's ok honey, you can keep it". Mom was furious! She gave her an earful and then we left the store. I guess in 1973, people thought differently about child theft????

Just a few years ago we were shopping in the grocery store. Had our arms full of stuff instead of using a buggy. As we walked out the store, I happened to notice I had something tucked in my arm. It was 3 bananas  I went back and paid for them. Mom made me honest from a childhood lesson. :goodvibes

MY daughter did that when she was three. We were walking around the Planet Hollywood store in MGM and she wanted one of those teddy bears that they have with the Planet Hollywood Tshirt on it. Well, I told her I didn't have the money for it, so while I was pushing her in her stroller she somehow grabbed one and held it in her lap. When we went over to Star Wars, I noticed it and told her that I said we didn't have money for it, and she said "but you didn't have to spend any money" I took it back, and I felt the need to pay for it since she already had it out of the store, but me and her had a long talk about money and stealing later on in that day.

One of my sons did it with a book when he was a toddler. My sister was visiting at the time. She lived in Europe, so to her the best vacation was going shopping in book stores that had books that she could read, so we hit all the bookstores that we could find. I did not have a clue which store it came from (we'd been in 3-4 bookstores) so I did let that one slide. For years we reminded him of that book. AT 15yo I can't imagine him ever stealing something, so it wasn't a sign of things to come. :teeth:

I almost stole baby socks from Sears the other day. As soon as I walked in the store I picked up the pack so I wouldn't forget then I went looking for a dress for my older dd. We didn't find one so as my dd and I were walking out the door she says "Is it OK if you just take them?" I had no idea I still had them in my hand. I went back in an paid for them and thanked my dd for keeping me from becoming a thief.

My DH and I just laughed our tushies off at this! LOL

OMG...and the thong! LOL

I paid for some items in a Burlington Coat factory, and when I got to the car, I went to throw my coat that was over my arm into the car, and realized it wasn't my coat...it was two pairs of pants that I meant to purchase...with the hangers still attached. How'd I get through the checkout with them, and out the door? I turned around expecting security to be behind me. I went back to the store, walked up to the manager and said "I just walked out of the store with these!" and he said "Really? Welcome back!" :)

when my brother was a baby he stole a pair of mickey ears from the store....we didnt notice it until we were on dumbo and he hit my dad with them! :earseek:

so we went back..paid..got it stitched with his name

and i got a pair of minie ones....i love that little thief!
