My Son Loves Halloween...5/5 3 updates! Main Street, castle, statue photos

Hooray for booking Pop! Any day you book a Disney trip is a good day!

We're going to the same Disney on Ice show, but we're going in Nashville in September. I'm definitely looking forward to it, since my next trip isn't until Thanksgiving.

I've been re-doing my bedroom and I just bought a new refrigerator, so lately I have been earning a few rewards points, too. Knowing you're getting a few Disney dollars takes the sting out of the purchases....a little.

Cute pictures of the kids at Crystal Palace. Thanks for sharing those. I'm glad we're getting in LTT before the characters leave, too. We'll be there the day before Thanksgiving.

Jacob is so excited to stay at Pop. He loves all the theming. I showed him your photos Thursday night before he went to orchestra. When I picked him up, he said he thought of nothing but Pop and Disney the whole time he was there. :rotfl:

We managed to miss the last few Disney on Ice shows. The last show was HSM and it was 7:30 on a school night, about 30min from my house. :sad1:
My kids have loved the ones we have seen though. I still remember attending special events like that as a kid, so I want them to have the same great memories.

I mainly use the Disney card, and I do convert every purchase over to Disney Dollars in my head. I was very lucky early this year to receive three months of bonus points!!! I used them for part of the party tickets. Whatever we earn between now & Sept will go to a meal or souveneirs.

LTT will be great the day before Thanksgiving! We had a great time with the characters when we were there. We met everyone twice!

WOW great rate at POP!

I love the CP pictures. So cute how Jacob had his arm around everyone. Your daughter is beautiful.

We bought our tickets this morning too due to the rate increase. Now I just need a good room only discount and I'm all set as well.

How exciting for Disney on Ice tickets! :thumbsup2

That was the AAA rate. I haven't needed emergency road service in a while, I think 3 years ago, Hannah locked my keys in the car, in our driveway, DH was out of town with one spare, and I could not find another. I've gotten some discounts which make the membership worthwhile.

Thanks for the compliments on the kids & photos. I tell Hannah she's beautiful all the time. Last week she said I know. :lmao:

I checked this morning and I don't see the ticket increase yet. I kept putting it off, because I keep hoping we can go back next year, which would make APs a good deal. But I just don't know that we'll have the time or money. :sad2: I'll keep hoping, I can always upgrade them during the trip.

Good Luck on the discount. I think last year one came out Mid August. I had been going to wait for that, but its getting so close, and I was happy with the price.

Awww, those pictures at CP are so cute! I definitely want to take my kids (uhh, the ones from the future, haha) there! I like the bright atmosphere of the place. Haha, easier to get good pictures.

I love how light CP is!!!
I enjoy hearing about your future kids. They are going to have adorable outfits, great vacations, and tons of pictures!!! You'll make a great parent when the time comes.

I love the old pictures from CP. I haven't made it there yet, but would love to try it out sometime.

Its definately one of my favorites. I love the building. The characters are fun. And I like the food too. Sometimes with kids a buffett is just so much easier, so they can find something they like.

I remember that all too well.

I am excited for your trip...I am going due to my son and his Christmas light fetish for his 18th B-day this December...

I myself, loove me some Halloween...love decorating and say skip September...and who ever heard of Pilgrims...I think it should go straight from Halloween to Christmas decorating...you will have to post some great pics of your house all decorated for Halloween in your report after you get back...

Well...my link is below if you want to see the 18 year old version of your son...he is a lot like your son from what I read...

Can't wait to read more...

We will have Halloween decorating progress reports between updates! :rotfl:
Jacob likes to have those decorations up as long as possible, too.

I intended to post decoration and costume pictures on here, but have not gotten around to finding them all. I will just see what's on my computer, then add more later.

What a great way to spend your son's birthday!!! I would love to spend mine at Disney, in 2011 my birthday will be during school vacation, so maybe we will go then. I would also love to go and see the Christmas decorations some year. I went once in December as a kid, but I only remember a little. Of course MK was the only park back then, and we stayed off site.

Jacob loves decorating for Halloween. He has since he was very young. Years ago, my stepmother came to visit us in October. She brought a craft project to make ghosts with the kids. We still have those ghosts, and it started a tradition. Every October she schedules a special trip to visit us. She brings a few new decorations each year. Some years more than a few.

Some of Jacob’s decorations:

This is his “Spooky Tree”

He made the two gravestones himself. I think he used Styrofoam.

We have an enclosed breezeway between our house and garage, which he completely covers in Halloween decorations.

We have a bit of a spider problem.

Jacob took a lot more photos this year, but I have to find the disc they are on. I know he took individual photos of many of his creations. He makes a lot of his own decorations. Plus I know he had one of his light up eyes. But maybe I’m thinking of the previous year.

My favorite Halloween decorations are the Jack-O-Lanterns. I started carving them in 2000, and I really enjoy this.

The seldom used front entry.

Jacob has started carving his own pumpkins the last few years. This year he decided to try something fancy.

The artist with his masterpiece:

Jacob decided to be headless. He designed and created the costume pretty much on his own.

Hannah decided to be a magician. She pretty much did this on her own too.

Can you guess what Hannah’s favorite part of Halloween is?

Wow. You weren't kidding when you said you go all out for Halloween! It looks great!!

I enjoy hearing about your future kids. They are going to have adorable outfits, great vacations, and tons of pictures!!! You'll make a great parent when the time comes.

 I hope my future kids think I'm a great mom when the time comes! I know for sure there will be plenty of pictures! My parents took a TON of photos of my older brother (he's 2 years older). They would video him just in his carseat sitting there doing nothing. Then when I came along ... haha ... I guess they got bored of it. On the family video, I'm a baby-baby in my crib (but my brother's standing next to it so it's focused on him) and then there's a decent segment with me on my stomach on a table cracking up hysterically everytime my dad made a sound (very daddy's little girl) and then suddenly ... I'm 7 and riding my bike in the Poconos. Haha. So I will definitely be sure to capture every little moment of my kids! That's why I get so excited to see all of your pictures, to see Jacob and Hannah willing to take pictures and have all these memories preserved!

Great decorations! I like the pumpkin you carved on the lower step at the front entry. Haha, it looks so mischievous with those eyebrows!

Of course, Jacob's pumpkin is awesome as well! That kid's got more talent in his little pinky than most of us have in our entire body!

And Hannah looks so content with her candy! Is that a little white rabbit on the table that she pulled out of her magician's hat?

Jacob, your Halloween decorations are great! You are going to have so much fun seeing the Boo to You Parade and all of the many decorations and costumes.

Jill and I have a wish to spend every special event and holiday, or at least very close to the actual holiday, that Disney World offers.

So far, we've done:
Spring Break, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Flower and Garden Festival
Fourth of July, Star Wars
Jill's birthday, MNSSHP, Food and Wine Festival
Thanksgiving
Christmas, Candlelight Processional, Osborne Lights
my birthday (not a well-known event, but cool to be in WDW on a birthday)

We've still got a long list of things to do, but it's the best kind of to-do list.

All caught up! Love your pictures!

And great job on all the Halloween decorations! I think you will love MNSSHP for sure! I think it is great that it is just the two of you. I really love doing special things one on one with my kids.

I love Pop, such a fun hotel! And yes try the Dole Whip! I find them so refreshing and yummy!

Allyson :)

Hi :goodvibes

We're going to WDW Sept. 26th too!!! Sounds like a great fun trip with just your son. I also have a 12 year old who loves Halloween, we all love Halloween, and MNSSHP is our favorite thing at WDW!

Thanks, Jacob does love his Halloween decorations. He just can't wait to put them up. I think he will start the day after we return from Disney.

They're happy to have their pictures taken, usually. After a certain number they get that enough already look though.

I can't draw at all, but I carve pumpkins and decorate the kids birthday cakes, that's my only form of art. Jacob is an amazing artist. When he was 3 he could draw better than me.

Yes!! That is a little rabbit, she pulled him out of her hat, and he went trick or treating with her.

Disney makes everything so special, I am starting to come up with a long list too. Without intending too. Flower and Garden Festival is high on my list. Jacob and I would love to attend Star Wars weekends, they get out of school so late in June though! But the end of June is close to the 4th of July, so that could be two in one trip.

All caught up! Love your pictures!

Thanks!

They have such different likes and abilities that it makes it easier sometimes to focus on one at a time. And they love it. Hannah is starting to ask about "her trip" to NYC, so I have to think about that soon.

I am really looking forward to that Dole Whip!

Hi :goodvibes

We're going to WDW Sept. 26th too!!! Sounds like a great fun trip with just your son. I also have a 12 year old who loves Halloween, we all love Halloween, and MNSSHP is our favorite thing at WDW!

We can countdown together!! Great to hear you love MNSSHP! Will you be going this year? I do remember reading part of your tr the day before I went to Disney in Feb. Your tour at Sea World where you met the penguins! That was when I first found the DIS, but had not registered yet!

I just had to start my pretrip today, so I could say...

100 DAYS till DISNEY!!!!

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Hi there! The title of your PTR caught my attention. I think it's very cool that your son is so into Halloween! :thumbsup2

I've always prefered Halloween over other holidays including Christmas. In fact I have a PTR for our Halloween Disney trip as well and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who starts looking forward to Halloween so early. :rotfl:

We live on the west coast though, so we'll be at Mickey's Trick or Treat party in California Adventure this October, but I've been to MNSSHP before and really enjoyed it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to following along and hearing all about it. Also seeing all the pics! Great Halloween decorations by the way. :)

Think we are going to make one more change in our plans. We are going to switch are specromagic night from Saturday to Monday. The way we had it, our last visit to MK would have been Sunday. This way we will start at MK on Fri, and end our last night Mon at MK.

Good to hear he is not alone in his love of Halloween. He is already counting the days. The Disneyland party sounds fun too. We have not made it to Disneyland or the west coast yet. It is on my very very long vacation wish list.

We will take a lot of photos!!!

50 DAYS!!!

OK 50 days from now we head for Disney!!!!
Hopefully around this time we will have just landed and be in the Orlando airport! :yay: :yay:

Don't want to be the only ones!

Let's do it ~ only 45 days left:banana: :cool1:

That's funny you read part of my TR. It was my first one, and I really enjoyed it. It was a great trip:goodvibes

MNSSHP is our favorite thing about WDW ~ really. That's why we're going back again this year. We are also going to two parties again this year. We will be there the same night as you guys ~ the 28th and then the 30th.

I have not had much time to be on the Dis lately. :sad2:
Partly due to fun stuff :goodvibes
Partly due to work :surfweb:
And partly because the internet is not working on the kids computer so they are on mine. :headache: A lot.
I will try to post a couple of pics of some of the fun stuff later.
I'd really like to post some more Disney photos and some more Halloween photos when I have the time.

Thanks! and Welcome!
We are really excited about the Halloween party as well.
I have heard comments about parties where lots of people were dressed up and comments that people were not. When we received our tickets, it said children are welcome to dress up. :confused3
We saw plenty of adults in pirate & princess costumes at the pirate and princess party we attended.
Jacob wants me to dress up too so I will. I haven't dressed up since I was a teen. I don't have a costume, yet. The Halloween stuff comes out earlier every year, so it shouldn't be long. We have a list of costume ideas, but I think availability will be a big deciding factor.

Great halloween decorations! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!! Jacob loves to decorate!

I loved seeing 1 month, 2 wks in my ticker yesterday, and 1 month, 1 wk, 6 days today!!!! It is getting closer!!!
That's great we will both be at the party on Sunday!
I'm glad to hear you are going to two as well!
The only party we have been to is P&P. Loved it, but really wished we had more time there.
