Hello folks, I am writing another TR, I just finished the one from January 2007 last month and I had so much dang fun I thought I would trace back 17 months ago to my trip with DH. Why you ask and how does she remember you ask????? Well, I have an INCREDIBLE memory. That's right, I leave the house w/o matching socks, forget to turn lights off, and sometimes can't quite remember my phone number, BUT I can remember every detail of my Disney trip from December of 2005!! I know AMAZING!!!!!!! I also would like to document it because in about 5 years I will have forgotten most details, so there you go!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So I will start, for your reading pleasure, "My So-Called Honeymoon" Trip Report. A little background on the title...

DH and I got married in Minnesota in August of 2001, two days after our blessed wedding, we moved to Austin, Texas to live. So, no honeymoon. DH had started his new job that year and pretty much had NO VACATION!!! Then the following 3 years we used all vacation time to come home and visit!! So, yet again, no honeymoon!! And if you were wondering, no I am not bitter at all,;) ;) In 2004 he got transferred back home to the Twin Cities and shortly after we got pregnant and in January of 2005 had our beautiful son, Gabe. I had hinted about Disney since my DH and I met and finally in September of 2005 he said, sure what the heck it can be our "Honeymoon". Not that I didn't like the idea of Disney for a honeymoon but I always dreamed of Hawaii or like a 2 week Disneymoon. I had to settle for 4 nights at the World. Not bad at all BUT I am still holding out for a BIG Honeymoon, hence the title "My So-Called Honeymoon"! Hey a girl can dream:tink:

Our short but cute introductions to come....

So the players in this TR are as follows:

Me, "Cory's Gal" real name Beth-at the time of the trip I was 27, and so excited to return to my beloved Disney World after not going for 5.5 years! Also, VERY EXCITED to be sharing this with my DH, who only went in high school never with ME!!!!!!!!

DH-real name Cory-27 at the time and excited to be going away with me and breathed a sigh of relief that we were finally going to Disney so I wouldn't have to nag him anymore, he he he....

DS-Gabe-11 months at the time-stayed home in Minnesota with Grandma and Grandpa, I never left him overnight until this trip, :sad1:

The Details:
We flew AirTran direct both ways, upgraded to "Business Class" thanks to a friend!! We got a great rate, we left Minneapolis at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 1st.(2005)
We didn't book any ADR's, trying to save some $$$, but we did stay at a Moderate, Port Orleans Riverside.
We had 3 day park hopper tickets.
We used Magical Express.

So my mom and Gabe and Cory picked me up at work at 11:30 am Thursday, December 1st, I cried leaving my boy, we got checked in and left right on time. Here's a self portrait on the plane:

Very bittersweet moment, although I was so sad, I was off to DISNEY!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

We arrived at MCO at about 5pm, jumped right on the ME bus, left right away and checked in to POR. Here's part of the festive lobby:

By 6pm we were in our room. We checked out our room, we were preffered in Magnolia Terrace. Very nice end room, we requested a King but got two doubles, no biggie. We were very hungry so we hopped on down to the dock to catch the boat to DTD!!! :boat: (I also took a few moments to call my baby boy:angel: )

Up next...DTD...

we were down there around the same time, i loved it all the christmas decorations. i loved how mgm had the festival of light, that made it feel like christmas. we had no snow for christmas this year. first time i remember that ever happening.

anyway i like both your reports.

Thanks for reading chake!! It was really nice to see the Christmas decorations. It made everything extra magical!! I may have to plan another trip this time of year!

great start!!! keep it comming!!!!!!popcorn::

Thanks for taking time to read!! I am not a great writer but I enjoy it, I have also just started a small scrapbook for this trip, so writing this is helping me and hopefully I can stay motivated to get it done!!!

Great TR so far! I attempted to go this past Feb without my DD who was 11 months at the time and then I couldn't go through with it and she ended up going! I think DH and I could use a trip alone!

It was hard at first, but really fun to go with just DH. I "talked" to Gabe everyday, twice, on the phone. I missed him so much but it made me look forward to his first trip, which we took this January right after he turned 2!!

I'm in! We were there for our week long Disneymoon in Feb of 2005 at POFQ and LOVED it! I can't wait to hear about your trip...nice memory by the way!!! :)

Thanks for reading, I love remembering trips, it was special for us to get away!! I am typing the next part now!!

So we were off to DTD!! We waited only a few minutes for the boat, it was chilly but a nice way to travel! Our thought for dinner was to try Raglan Road. We wanted to have one nice dinner during the trip and that evening we were in no rush. Since I didn't have an ADR I was a little worried but we got seated immediately and got our food by 7:30! The food was great, DH had the Fish n' Chips and I had the Salmon! Both were great and tasted good with a beer, I am a wimp and drink Light Beer, but DH loves Black and Tan's! Service was good and so was the entertainment!!

After dinner we strolled around DTD, I only took one pic outside, but it was of the beautiful Christmas Tree:

We went through all the stores and stopped at Ghiradelli for hot chocolate and a brownie sundae, YUM!!!!! We went into World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy. Here's one of my favorite set-ups (Wouldn't you love to have this set up at home??):

We just browsed the stores knowing there was plenty of shopping to come! We caught the bus back to the hotel, it was a bit chilly, and then walked back to our room. What a beautiful night! Here's Magnolia Terrace in the evening (I think this was before the boat ride):

Then it was off to bed, early AM Hours at MK, parade taping day so we had to get up and at em'...

Our first full day at Disney was Friday, which by chance was the first parade taping day. I planned and researched many times over EMH and "Best Park, Best Day" charts. Since we were only in the parks over the weekend, I thought Friday was the best MK day. I wasn't sure how the parade taping would affect our touring, but we decided it was just the two of us and we could be flexible. It was early EMH so we caught the bus right behind our building.

Before I get too far into our day, we had a preferred room, here are some pics we took that morning:

Here's DH waiting at the bus stop: (the weather was high 60's that day and sunny):

After getting picked up by the bus we were on our way to MK!!! We got there at about 8:05 and walked right in. The people there for the parade taping were all lined up being led through Main Street.

There was quite a few people but when headed to Tomorrowland to start our day, it was almost deserted!! We rode Space Mountain twice, no wait. We then road Buzz twice, no wait.

We called DS at home to say "good morning", and then started our walk over to Fronteirland. It was 9:00 by this time, we walked right on to Splash, no wait. Then we went on BTMRR three times, 5 minutes was the longest wait. Here's a pic of Splash, I never have seen an empty log!

One of my favorites:

Then we took a ride on the HM and then saw Mickey's Philharmagic!! What an awesome show! DH and I both really enjoyed it!! The wait for both of those were barely 5 minutes!! We headed back over to Cosmic Ray's for some burgers, and then began our afternoon...
