My DS11 has been know to sleepwalk a few times. Usually he comes into our room and says weird things until I realize he's still asleep and walk him back to his bed. One time I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and the bathroom light was on. I found him in there brushing his teeth!

This week, he started musical theater day camp. This is his second year of it and he absolutely loves it. He reminds me several times every night to make sure he gets up on time so he won't miss a thing. His clean clothes for the day were already laid out to speed things up in the morning.

So when I went in his room to get him up, I noticed that the clean clothes weren't in their place and then I found the shirt and shorts in his hamper. I woke him up and asked him if he moved his clothes and he said no. Then he got up and we both noticed he was wearing underwear over his pajama pants!!!! He must have been so excited about going to camp that he started putting on his clothes over his PJs. Then he must have taken them off, except for the underwear, and put them in the hamper. We all had a good laugh over that one!!!!:lmao:

Too cute! He must really love the camp! lol

My brother used to sleep walk, especially when he was sick, and we've found him in some crazy places! I remember one time, we found him outside, standing in bushes. He thought he was in the bathroom! We had to lock the doors during the day after that! lol

Very cute story, and funny! My DS, 16, sleepwalks once in awhile too. Usually we hear about it from him as he wakes with with a collection of household items in his bed with him...random stuff that he collects on his sleepwalking stints.

I have to say, that I am a worrier when it comes to sleepwalking. Both my dad and sister were sleepwalkers, and they would leave their homes in the middle of the night, and often wake up several blocks from home. :scared1:My sister went through this faze in college, when she was living in the dorm. I was so worried she would hurt herself during her sleep walking. She was going through a stressful period, after having just broken up with her first love. Luckily it passed, and she has not slept walked since. My dad would sleepwalk as a child but never has as an adult.

My brother used to sleepwalk too. One night he walked into the kitchen, lifted the lid off the trash can, and used it as the bathroom! I still tease him about it.

:rotfl: My mother found me doing the same thing when I was about 6. Feels good to know I'm not alone. ;)

Another time I was in 3rd grade and was at a friends house at a sleepover. I had my sleeping bag with me, one of the ones that is nylon on the outside. Apparently I got up in the middle of the night and went down the wooden steps, still in my sleeping bag and went into her parents room to ask for water.

I didn't even know her parents and I can imagine I probably freaked them out a little.

I remember waking up, downstairs in front of the tv with her brother and his friend watching cartoons. When I went upstairs I found out all about my night adventures. Yeah, that was a bit embarrassing. :headache:

OMG, there is a classic story in our family about my DBro doing this. He got up in the night but DDad was still awake and walked into the kitchen to see what DB was up to. We had a schnoodle named Bowzer at the time, DBro proceeds to drop trou and pee in the dog's water dish! :rotfl::rotfl: DDad said the dog just looked at him like "Hey! What didja do that for?!" :rotfl:

He also used to do color commentary for hockey games in his sleep. We would hear mumbling that gradually got louder, then all of the sudden we would hear, "He shoots, he scores!!!" :lmao::lmao: Man, that kid was free entertainment.

DH doesn't walk in his sleep but he does talk, especially when he's stressed. He's changing positions at work right now and it's obviously making him stressed - every single night this week he's woken me up! Wednesday night he shook me to wake me up and tell me "did you remember to put the ducks in the dishwasher?" :rotfl: When I asked him WTH he was talking about, he turned over and mumbled "it's your job you know, to take care of the ducks AND the guinea pig." We have neither a guinea pig or a set of ducks.

Last night he woke me up singing Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf :confused3

It's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything when I read these....

My brother used to sleepwalk, and one night I woke up to hear my dad, also not quite awake, walking him around the house. I decided to follow them in case they needed any help -- my dad would stop and say to my brother, "see, it's not in here..." they'd stop at the bathroom, "see, it's not in here..." I had no idea what they thought they were looking for. Then my dad walked my brother to my mother's closet, adn said, "look, it's here!" I found out what they were looking for when my brother began to pee in the closet --

My dd sleepwalks also. Seems to happen when she is overtired or stresses. About 2 years ago we were in Philly on vacation and I heard something that woke me up. Good thing I got up to check because she was in the hallway of the hotel:scared1:

I used to do this when I was younger (mid 20's) and it seemed to be when I was overtired, too. For a while when any of us from work would have to go to training, it was not surprising if I got up in the middle of the night and ended up trying to crawl in bed with whatever friend I was sharing a room with! :rotfl::scared1: I think it was the confusion of some weekends at my now dh's apt., some at my parents' and some at my apt.

My DS is 13 and is also a sleepwalker. Fortunately he only does this at home, never while we're camping or on vacation.

The other day DH and I were getting ready for bed when DS suddenly came bursting into the room telling us we needed to get out because there was a bomb in the house. We decided that it was time to cut way back on the video games.

my late husband was a sleeptalker. One night he woke me up handing me something imaginary. He was insistant so I touched his hand like I was taking it, and asked him what it was. "a salt shaker." "For what?!?!" "The giant slugs." I laughed so hard I woke him up.

My daughter is a sleepwalker. She has always been a restless sleeper. When she was a preschooler she had night terrors...talk about freaky! Then she moved on to sleepwalking. Sometimes it's funny but often it's scary. We have been in hotel rooms where we have woken up to find her trying to get out to the balcony or into the hallway. At home she has gotten into the shower, her sisters bed, closets "looking for stuff" She will wake up with her pj"s on backwards. She is definitely worse when she is stressed. She is off to college this fall and I have to say I worry about her doing it there. Her roommate is aware and will watch out for her. She spent a week orientation there and stayed in her bed so that was hopeful.

I have a sister who walked a mile from home in the middle of the night when she was little because she wanted to go to the beach during the day and we couldn't and she was not happy. A police officer brought her home with her pj' s on holding her bathing suit. Scary:scared1:

That is scary!! Since your sister did it and your dd does, I wonder if it's genetic? I have to ask my MIL and mom if anyone in my family did it.

I sleeptalk, not sleepwalk.
Mom says I always seem to be talking about Disney :rotfl:
She came in to check on me once and I was talking about riding the tea cups with the hatter and hare.

That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time!:rotfl::rotfl:

I used to sleepwalk a LOT. I never knew where I was going to wake up (I once rode my bike around the neighborhood at 3 in the morning - I was in second grade).

My most embarassing moment (and my mom's, too) was the result of my "problem." My parents were having one of their dinner parties with about 10 couples and my mom typically had me help serve and then I would hide out in my room after the meal. This particular night the party went late into the night and I guess I fell asleep on my bed waiting for it to be over. At some point I got up, walked into the living room and announced to everyone that it was VERY rude to stay so late and they should all just go home. I then stomped off to my room and slammed the door.

Oh, and I should mention that I did all this wearing only a short T-shirt and underware. :rotfl2: And since I was about 12 years old, I was HORRIFIED when I woke up (to my mom shaking me and asking what the heck I was doing!) and found out what I had done.

That's when I started drinking coffee - I had to find a way to keep myself from streaking during dinner parties. :rotfl:

OMG so funny. I have my own story to share. This past Jan. my DH and I went to WDW.I think it was our 2 or 3rd night there, when I heard my husband moving about may 2 or 3 in the morning. I sat up and saw him trying to open the door leading outside. Now normally this would not be too bad. But:

#1 - I alway use all locks and latchs on hotel doors at night. He did not release them just kept trying to force the door open, making quite a bit of noise in the process.

#2 - I asked him what he was doing and he just kept saying he wanted to go into the bathroom.

#3 - Most disturbing of all - he was let's say all natural :scared1:

I can just see it now on the Orlando news "man found wandering around Disney property in the buff.":scared:

I finally was able to convince him by pushing him away from the door and leading him to the bathroom he was going in the wrong direction. I spent the rest of the trip not just locking the doors, but pushing the big chair in front of it. This way I would definately hear him if he tried this again.

Funny thing though he had absolutley no memory of this. He still does not believe he did this.

We were on a Disney cruise, asleep in our stateroom in the middle of the night when I heard a knock on our door. I nudged DH awake. When he went to answer the door, I glanced at the clock and it said 2am. WTH?? When he opened the door, our DS, 9 at the time, was out in the hallway. As DH pulled him in, DS muttered something about "going up to watch the sunrise". We realized he was sleepwalking. :scared1: But what really scares us is to think what would have happened if he really did wander upstairs to watch the sunrise. What if he dreamed he was in Neverland and did a Peter Pan off the ship! :scared1: After that we barricaded the door with luggage. :lmao: It's something we have to keep in mind when we travel.
