They moved here 2 1/2 years ago from PA and for whatever reasons it's not working anymore and are moving back (about 500 miles away). I'm ok with it, my sis and I aren't that close but my boys are going to be so sad. They are best buds with my BIL and they are going to miss him terribly.
I know they are going to be crushed when they find out and, well the 3 1/2 will be, the 2 year old won't really understand.
I know they may not fully understand what's going on; the hard part will be AFTER they leave and they ask where he is or when is he coming by.
Any advice on how to make it easier on them? They are leaving in 2 weeks so it's a quick move; they are coming by today to tell them

and we have no family here. 3/12 is still young, and when your DSis and DBIL move, you can talk to him and say that they are going to move and show him on a map? You can have him help put together a going away bag of things to remember you all by, like some cookies, photos, a little scrapbook. Maybe your DSis and DBIL can give your boys something special to remember them by. Even if he will miss them, soon he will adjust, kids are just that way. You can make the concept of them moving fun by saying we'll call, send pictures, plan a visit.
We're also in the Columbus area!
