I FINALLY told my family that Im going to DISCon. Well, I told my mother, anyway, and thats as good as telling the rest of the family. I figured that Id better tell now, because Im hoping someone in the family will take me to the airport. (So far, no ones offered. I might have to go to plan B.) Im really not sure why I put off telling them for so long. Guess I thought theyd freak out, or theyd think Id freaked out.
Mom didnt really seem so surprised that Im going, only that its so soon. She asked if I was going alone and when I said yes, she said aw, like she was sorry for me that I had to go alone. So, I told her that I wouldnt really be alone. I think she actually feels better that Im joining a group. (Shes very protective of me; Im her baby.) Well, I bought a 600 minute phone card at Sams Club, so I can call her often and tell her what Im up to.
