We had same problem at RPR as well, I did fill in survey and got a reply back saying they where sorry etc and to contact them if staying again, I emailed them 2 weeks ago to give details of our upcoming stay and they never replied to be honest I think due to the 1 night stayers for FOTL they don't want to bother with actual resort guests
I would have tried to rearrange the room a bit. Put all of the luggage away, nice and neatly. Move stuff around a little.
We are in a regular double (are these queen beds?) room. The connecting door area is big so I put the easy chair in that area and it made a little sitting room.
We have our little table and chairs in the corner for office and dining pleasure, a dressing room in the foyer of the bathroom and of course the bedroom.
Actually this hotel (RPR) and the Dolphin are the smallest hotel rooms that we have stayed at in a long time. There are 4 of us.
The Dolphin was nearly unbearable between the size and wear and tear of the room. I don't think that I'd go back again.
To the op: I would have been disappointed if I'd expected a different room. Are the club level rooms usually bigger?
ok I just might be a little hungover from that glass of wine last night, but on the pic captioned "had a real surprise when we opened the sofa bed"....I thought you opened a sofa bed to find a kid folded up in it .
Just funny combination of picture + caption.
We're staying there in June and luckily I don't spend anymore time in the room than I have to. I'll sleep by the pool if it gets too crowded!

If the Dolphin and RPR are the smallest rooms you have stayed in around the Orlando area, I shudder to think what you will think of the standard rooms in wdw. They are all considerably less square footage

Well, they are not the smallest rooms that I have ever stayed at...just the smallest that I have stayed at in a long time.
We have stayed at all stars music a few years ago...SMALLER. But I think that the rooms that we had at Dolphin and RPR were even smaller than CBR and CSR.
I am trying to remember hotel rooms that we have stayed at in the past. The Renaissance at SeaWorld was bigger, the WDW contemporary was bigger. We have been staying at houses and condos lately so we are spoiled for space.
We are at the Floridays resort now...3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Much better. (but we had a lot of fun at Universal Studios!!)
Yes...they are small at AKL. We had a queen bed (or was it a double?) and bunks in one room and two queens (or doubles) in a connecting room and that saved us...the connecting room. And the balcony was handy, not big but for extra bit of space. We had taken dd26 and her dh on that trip with us. That was a few years ago....maybe 3? And after a couple nights there we had a 2 bedroom at Hyatt Coconut Plantation in Bonita Springs.
I think that the amenities and convenience of being in a hotel on site is worth it but oh my goodness the rooms (for money I would pay) are so small. I guess if you don't spend much time in the room (and enjoy the public areas) it isn't so bad.
