We spent one night at The Wilderness of the Smokies in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee this past weekend and we had a really good time. I paid a total of $160.00 for one night in a pool view studio with 2 adults and 2 kids. Pretty good value I thought for one night and two days with the waterparks.

We will be returning in May for two nights, with a 25% bounce back rate I got. I will post the total price of that stay tomorrow after I book. Here are some of my thoughts...

1. Do book a room in the River Lodge section. I would not want to stay in no other location. Have to be close to the action. We also did a pool view room, that was great! I requested either the ground floor or the very top floor. Got the very top floor. Next time I will try to get a ground floor.

2. Room was nice, clean and useful. Even had a small stove top in it that I was not aware of. It rivaled some of Disney's rooms.

3. If you want a table or chairs with shade, you have to be out right before they open the water parks. They do need a whole lot more tables and chairs with shade. I enjoyed the big wave pool, the lazy river and the huge hot tub a lot! The kids enjoyed everything there.

Well I went ahead and booked one night for next year with the 25% bounce back I received last week. I went with a deluxe one bedroom with a pool view this time for a total of $184.02. This pricing includes five people in the room, even though I could add five more people to the room at a rate of $25 per person, not that I would though.

This room, well its actually two rooms, has a full kitchen and two bathrooms in it. We will be a party of five with this visit, so I wanted a little more space. Plan to arrive early, around 9 a.m. and hitting the water park when it opens at 10. Thinking about doing a late check out that will run about $60, but will allow you access to your room till 6 p.m.

Do they have indoor water parks at this one? We are headed to Gatlinburg on the 17th and I have not yet booked a room but by then it will probably be too cold for outdoor pools.

Yes they do.
