I copied this review of mine out of a previous post-

We just got back from vacation and stayed 1 night at the Renaissance. we payed 45 on Priceline for it and it was awful! The room was so dirty, butt ugly and it smelled!!. There was mold in the bathroom and bugs, I didn't even let the kids to bathe there because it was just plain dirty. We would never, ever go back again. They promised Bath and Body works products- nope none there we had to ask the maid for them. It's just not that well kept, as you drive up the revolving doors are all dirty, the pool was dirty and the main pool was closed due to a group renting it out while we were there. I know we only paid 45 but from the way they decribed themselves, on the web site and rating of 3 stars at pricleine we were VERY disappointed. I can't even imagine having paid rack rate of (139.00) you can get the Disney's All-Stars cheaper then that and they are REALLY nice!!! When we checked in at 10:30 am we requested a crib for our 1 year old, they said *no Problem we'll send one up* Well we got back later that night and no crib. We called down and they said *we'll check on it right away* Well 20 minutes later- nothing. My husband went down to the front desk and asked about it, they said *Oh sorry were out and we told you it was based upon availibility* this was said very snotty. My husband said calmly that we weren't told that and my son had no where to sleep, they couldn't care less. He ended up sleeping with my husband while he 1/2 slept because he kept watching that my son didn't roll off, climb down ect.

Our stay there was terrible and wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'm just thankful that we only spent 1 night there, I have written a complaint to priceline as well because this hotel is marketing itself as something it is not.

Like I said I'm not one to complain and I just wanted a clean hotel. We aren't snobs, we LOVE the All-Stars at Disney etc.. Before we stayed at the RWG we stayed at the Doubletree castle on International Drive(we decided to drive down a few days early), it was VERY nice!!! Clean, very helpful friendly staff etc.. It wasn't anything fancy but we really enjoyed our stay there and if we ever arrived a few days early again we would definitely return. But I wouldn't go back to the Renaissance again if you paid me-lol.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about this hotel being so bad in every way. Nothing worse that a dirty hotel and poor service.

I am glad you complained to priceline. Let us know what they respond with.

There are some beautiful offsite hotels in Orlando and some unbeliable bad ones. You just never know!

Thanks for the review.

My stay there was complete opposite...everyone went out of their way to please us. Pool was well kept...room was clean. I didn't care for the colors in the room, but other than that, everything was fine. Bath & body products were available in bathroom. We had a plugged toilet and called down and maintenance was right up to fix it.

thanks for the positive post - we are leaving for orlando on tuesday and staying at this hotel for a week.

got a great rate via priceline - $35 per night. at this rate, i figure how awful can it be?

any other recent hotel guests?

We stayed there one night this past March. I thought the room was fine. We arrived at midnight and left at 8AM so didn't really get a chance to look around. I did think the pool area could have been a little cleaner, lots of leaves and stuff around, but I thought maybe they clean the area at later in the morning.

I think it's interesting to note that we had the same experience as hallie with a request for a rollaway. I had faxed the request the day before we arrived. When we checked in we were told the rollaway was already in the room. It was not, so I called down and they said they'd send one up. When one did not arrive, I called again and they said there were none available. I too, was a pricelin guest. BUt with what she wrote, I think I'll write the Resaissiance and ask why there is so much miscommunication.

We stayed over Easter for nine days and found it to be a really nice hotel. I am very fussy and my room was spotless. We received English Lavendar soaps, shampoo and body lotion every day. The housekeeping in my room was exceptional. I would happily recommend it. I like the convenience of staying onsite at the AllStars but I much preferred my room at the Renaissance. It has also received many good reviews on the Priceline forum.

We stayed there last month and loved it. We got it for four days through priceline for $35 a night and stayed six days at sog. The rooms were a bigger than the rooms that we stayed in at the Wyndham resort on property. A fridge came with the room and the garden tub was great. It had plenty of cabinet space that wrapped around from one wall in front of the window to the opposite wall. In fact, dh liked it a lot better than the sog.

This is weird because it really was a bad experience when we were there. It might have something to do with the hotel being completely filled due to a VERY large family reuion going on there. We didn't even have access to the the big pool because they rented it out, it was really mobbed.

Does anyone know if they have some rooms that have been renovated because the one we were in hasn't been updated probably since the 70's-lol. It really smelled like mold or something, like it was stale. And the bedding and such was really old and just nasty. Maybe we got a room they don't normally use because of the hotel being so crowded? That's the only thing I can think of that would explain the difference in quality we recieved. I really wasn't exaggerating in my review, it was bad.

We complained to Priceline and they said that they were going to re-evaluate the hotel, probably aren't really going to-lol. They also offered us some kind of 20.00 a night credit towards future Priceline purchases, but I don't think we will use them again. My sister used Priceline right after us and got a beautiful hotel in Washington DC, so I guess it's the luck of the draw but I don't want to take the risk again.

I think you must have been unlucky Hallie. It might have been due to it being busy but I was there over Easter and there was a very large party there for Passover but I got a lovely room. I have had some great deals with Priceline. I would ask to be moved if I wasn't happy even if I'd got a really cheap rate.
