DH and I returned this past sunday from the wonder. I know I asked a lot of questions about the food before I went so I thought I would give my reviews of the food for what it's worth.
Day 1: Welcome Aboard lunch: We went to parrot cay. I thought the food was pretty good. We had the shrimp and it was a little tough. I also had a salad and some sort of pasta salad. These were also pretty good. Not great!
PALO: We did palo at 7:30. DH had the lamb which was great! I had the filet which was ok. Not as good as I had heard but good. DH also had this bowl of black olives and roasted garlic that he loved. It was an appetizer (not sure of the name). But let me tell you he smelled like garlic for days even after several teeth brushings. The dipping sauces for the bread, we thought were very good. DH liked the more spicy orange sauce and I liked the white garlic sauce the best. The purple sauce was very yucky IMHO. We then had the famous soufle and tiramasu. I didn't care for the tiramasu. I liked the souffle but dh thought it was way overrated. He said it tasted like a brownie with some chocolate sauce to him.
Day2: Breakfast at beach blanket--we really enjoyed the buffet. Everything was good.
Lunch--Tritons: I had the talapia with rice and it was good. I forget what dh had. Anyway, the best part of this meal was the desert. The banana cream pie was delicious!!!! I am usually not a banana pie type of person but i ordered it for some reason and it was great! It was chocolate which I was not expecting.
Dinner--Animators: This was my least favorite restaurant. I got the duck and goat cheese flat bread and it was GROSS! I couldn't eat it. Then I had the butter nut squash soup...didn't care for it either. I had the pan fried veal for dinner. It was good and the only thing I ate that night besides desert which was a sunday. It's hard to mess up a sunday.
Day 3--Room service breakfast. We just had cereal and bagels.
Cookies barbecue lunch--the ribs were great!!! Didn't care for the lobster burger. I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie dough soft serve ice cream. Also loved the konk coolers on castaway cay.
Parrot cay dinner-i had the hot crab newburg which was very good. I also had the rib eye. It had very good flavor and was tender. DH had the mixed grill and thought it was excellent. I had the cream brulee cheese cake for desert. I was almost too full to eat it but I managed. It was ok.
Overall I thought the food on the ship was good but not great! Maybe I didn't make the best choices when ordering. I guess I"ll just have to book another cruise so I can try all the other stuff.
