ok, so the food sucked! there ya go. thats my review. the lineups to get the food were out of this world. i felt like i was in high school again, waiting in the cafe lineup....

the characters were slim pickens and they only stayed for a mini second at our table....very disappointing. minnie walked right by us so we go a photo

then..to top it all off, fairy godmother started to walk over to our table (i love her!) and this woman and her son cut right in front of her to take a photo of her, and bless her soul, fairy godmother said to her, i will come to your table in a moment, where are you sitting...and the woman said, we aren't sitting anywhere, we came in to find a washroom and saw you so we came to say hi!.....HELLO>????????????? its a buffet style restaurant and she just walked in....but then i guess with the 10000 people that were in the restaurant at that time, she found her way in, without being noticed.

on another note...we LOVED ariels grotto. the princesses were AMAZING. and spent a ton of time with my girls. which thrilled me and them. and daddy!

goofys was also good. we must have had a late ressie becuase the restaurant cleared out and fast of people but te characters stayed behind and we got some 'alone time' with aladdin and balou. that rocked!

wow im so sad for you, we thought we got grate service, the charcters were grate, the women (jenale) i think, was awsome she had went around to all the areas we could see (and ours) and said shed make sure the charcters came by, she asked diering the meal who we had seen and then said ok i'll make sure the others get to you all (it was us and a family with a cute baby. and two familys in frnt of us up on the balconey, the charcters did spend more time down or in side, but she made sure they all came and we saw like 6 i think

I am sorry and hope you have a better time next time. we also did ariels and goofys both thumbs up

oh don't be sad for us....we survived and my girls (which also includes a cute baby!) enjoyed it. despite all the fuss. was just annoying! goofys and ariels totally made up for it.

I thought the food was passable buffet stuff. We always enjoy the Mickey waffles. The thing I didn't like was my fellow patrons. Behavior can be pretty rough at Minnie's. I'm not sure why that is, but on the whole, social standards are higher at the hotel character meals. Go in with the knowledge that its a rugby scrum at Minnie's and you'll survive.

*Disclaimer: I exaggerate.

Ado, I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing meal. What time was your meal at Minnies?

Glad to hear the rest of the trip was a good one. :thumbsup2

Thanks.

Rugby scrum, Cruella, Hook & Mickey Waffles...... Even with the mixed reviews....I'm thinking this might be my kind of place. :cool1:

We had the complete opposite experience. Terrible experience at Goofy's (3 times now, I have no idea why we keep going back and throwing our money away) and a wonderful time at Minnie's.

I really think the key to a good time at Minnie's is to be in on of the first seatings. When we were there the restaurant was pretty empty so we didn't really have any lines for food and there wasn't much competition for the characters.

I have gone to the Charecter Breakfast at Goofy's kitchen, StoryTeller's and ( last time ) to Minnie's Breakfast and I completely agree.....Minnie's Breakfast was my least favorite. It was near chaos and the options for food were limited....at least compared to Goofy's kitchen.

In terms of food and atmosphere, I liked Goofy's kitchen the best....StoryTeller's the next best and Minnie's a distant last.

actually, i prefer last seatings for character meals. they don't kick you out and the characters don't leave and there's no rush for them to get to other tables since there aren't any more, not to mention it doesn't get in the way of prime touring.

i had like 4 or 5 characters in the same room at t he same time, all messing around with the guests and each other (hook made tigger 'walk the plank')

I think all the character meals are pretty much hit or miss. I have had good meals and character interaction at them one day and the next time not. Overall, here is a run down of our experiences.

Goofy's and Minnie's have always been the most chaotic but also have always had the most characters. However, I have noticed at both sometimes the characters miss tables which can annoying. Food quality varies.

Chip & Dale and and Lilo meals were both more relaxed. They also had great food but fewer characters.

Ariel's was somewhere in between. A little chaos, good food and plenty of princesses. The princesses have a "planned route" which seems to work better for insuring they don't miss your table. They were also generous with their time at each table.

The one thing I have learned is to just relax. A perfect experience is PROBABLY not going to happen. However, as long as the kids are having fun the rest is small potatoes! My daughter usually never even notices if the food isn't good. And she could care less whether "little Stevie" cuts in line to see the characters. But in her mind when Minnie shows up, all is well. There lies the magic which makes it all worth it!
