We arrived at the HRH on 8/15 after a stay at CSR (which we loved BTW).

We checked in around 11:00 and they had a room ready for us. I had reserved 3 nights with an entertainment rate of $134. We were given a room on the 5th floor, facing the pool. The only problem was it was right over a roof so it was kind of hard to actually see the pool, but it was fine. The room was in great shape, nice decor, comfortable beds, etc.

We did add another night to our stay. I asked at check in if there was availability for the extra night and the girl said no, they were sold out. Well the next day while sitting at the pool, I decided to call reservations from my cell phone and they were able to get me the extra night and for the same entertainment rate!! I felt like going back to the girl at the check in desk and saying "nah, nah, nah... I got a room anyway!!" The reason I say that is because I didn't think she was very nice, and kind of blunt with her "no we're sold out".

I did find the customer service to be lacking at this hotel somewhat. After coming from Disney with excellent customer service and friendly CM's, the HRH just seemed like it had too much "attitude" for me. Maybe that is the image it wants to portray, but it just stood out and I didn't care for it that much. It is a beautiful hotel, don't get me wrong, and I would probably stay here again. I just noticed a difference from Disney.

Also, it is a very expensive hotel as far as eating, drinking, etc. We ate at The Kitchen a couple of times, once for lunch and once for the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet for 4 cost us about $80 with tax and tip... that's a lot of money for breakfast!, especially because my kids really didn't like the food that much. I thought it was ok, but how much breakfast can you really eat?

My DH and I also had margaritas by the pool and the bill for those was like $30, that is for only 2 drinks! My DS had chicken tenders and a coke by the pool and it was $18.

My overall impression of the hotel was good though, just expensive and not real friendly. My DH on the other hand really like the hotel and liked the "attitude". I asked my DS's which hotel they liked better HRH or CSR and they both said HRH. I personally found CSR to be very nice and relaxing.

The one thing I did like was the FOTLA!!! This was so worth staying on-site for. There were poor people waiting in standby lines with 60-75 min. waits and we were walking right on to the rides, amazing! I was actually feeling guilty by-passing those poor souls!

So I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Thanks for the review. I am glad you had a good stay. The rate you got was great, I think we had the same rate last year. I am hoping the rate will be about the same next August. The only thing is we will be going the beginning of the month and I hope it isn't higher in price. Anyway, we also split our stay with disney and I felt that disney CMs are nicer and try to be more accomodating. My boys like the HRH better. We will just have to wait and see for next year.:flower:

My DH and I also had margaritas by the pool and the bill for those was like $30

Drinks at HRH Beach Club (Pool Bar) now cost $7.50 for coladas etc. But they add 20% gratuity so that adds another $1.50 + 6.5% tax and one drink costs roughly $9.50 -

Two drinks costs around $20.

I wish I had saved receipt but paid cash and it was not $30.
your experience may have varied.

wife and I only bought coladas once. Beers are much cheaper.

Thanks for review agree it can be expensive also others have commented on customer service at the hotel as well. I also found the service lacking due to the attitude of some staff:jester:

We probably passed each other in the hall!
They told me the same thing when we checked in - SOLD OUT! I thought the service at the hotel was aweful! The guy who checked us in also checked us out...he had different name tags each day(with a different name). What's up with that? DH also liked the hotel...I guess it was the music! The only thing- I didn't feel guilty cutting the line with FOTL:teeth: !

Glad you had a good stay!!
