Last week I made a reservation at Coronado Springs with an overflow rate with Shades of Green. The lady I talked to at SOG said once my credit card had been charged for the deposit, I would receive a confirmation number and to call back. I called central reservations today and they told me the reservation had been CANCELLED because no deposit was received!!! How can this be, when I checked my credit card and the only charge on there is for a Disney Resort reservation for one night's deposit!!! I am freaking out! I need to call SOG's office but they are closed until tomorrow. Someone please tell me this isn't happening! Does SOG have a different reservation system?

I would call Disney management which is open all the time and tell them how could your ressie be cancelled when your credit card was charged? If they still deny that no deposit was made then I would fax them your credit charge report showing the date it was charged.
Good luck.

Yes - they do have a different reservation system, totally separate from the WDW resorts.

Try calling (407) 824-3400 - that's their main front desk number. I've been frustrated beyond belief before with reservations, and tried that number on a Sunday evening and was able to get my problem resolved.

Yes, the reservation system is different and the agent should have told you (as should have Disney) that you were NOT to contact Disney directly. Any thing and every thing has to go through SoG.

That stated....since you'll have to wait until tomorrow to contact SoG, I would call your credit card company back. Verify that a deposit from Disney has been taken off the credit card. Get the date AND the exact amount.

Starting at 759am EST, I would be calling SoG to be one of the first ones to be answered. Explain that, for whatever reason, you opted to contact Disney yourself to check on your reservation and they informed you there wasn't one due to a lack of a deposit. Ask the agent to check in their system what they are showing. If he/she shows your reservation, ask for the confirmation number (it used to be that us going into your reservation, whether changes were made or not, caused Disney to generate another confirmation letter to be sent out). I would also ask the agent to put you on hold and contact Disney to have them send another confirmation letter out to you.

If the agent finds there is no reservation, I would then provide the agent with the information you have from your credit card company and ask him/her to contact Disney and straighten it out.

Unfortunately, the systems are not perfect. It's not the first time I've heard of something like this happening and it won't be the last. However, when you are able to provide the agent with ALL of the information they will need, you'll make it a lot easier on them to work things out with Disney IF there really is a problem. :)

Thanks for all the advice.... I am trying not to let this consume me with panic until I can call SOG tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't have any advice, just hope all works out for you, I am just wondering how all your friends are who were in that terrible accident. I hope things are working out for all of them.

This same thing happened to me last month! I booked All Star Sports (that's all they had) with an overflow rate. Time went by and I hadn't received my little confirmation slip. I finally got nervous and called SOG back. I tell my story to the gal working there and she tells me that she will look it up. Long story short, my reservation never even existed!!! Can you imagine getting down to Florida in June and not having a hotel? Good grief! She apologized and then was able to book Port Orleans for us instead. I do know from first hand experience that Disney is not able to touch a SOG ressie. I called down because SOG made another error. Didn't list one child on ressie. Disney cm informed me that everything has to go through SOG. They are not able to change any details at all. Call first thing tomm! Good Luck!

All is well! I called SoG this morning and verified my reservation. There must have been some kind of misunderstanding and it was not posted or something on the Disney system because it was on SOG's system. They said that they would run it through Disney again today and to check this afternoon. Well I checked and they now have my reservation at CSR for 4/26-4/29 with the overflow rate of $94/nt. My deposit is in and everything is A-OK. Now I can focus on preparing for our trip!

on a side note: luvmarypoppins, they are doing ok now. I will be updating that post on the Community board this evening. Thanks for thinking of them :)
