I just thought it would be fair to all other future cruisers to share our recent experience. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and a 6 and 9 year old. We stayed in a cat. 5 on deck 7 with a verandah.

The accomodations were excellent and the clealiness matched them. The cruise is non-stop filled with activities and great entertainment. The shows at the theater rival many on the WDW shows and the creative use of time gave everyone the opportunity to do something special.

The kid's club, although ideal for a getaway and alone time, provided some activities, but also had a great deal of free play time. Both of my children enjoyed going for small periods of time.

Palo's restaurant is worth the additional $10 each if only to sit in a very nice setting. The food like the rest of the meal was adequate at best and lacked flavor. The presentation is wonderful, the service is great, but every meal appeared to be missing seasonings and lacked freshness. Although I was told that the fish and meat was fresh, most dishes tasted as if they were previously frozen. I must say that I have grown up in a restaurant busineness, therefore my expectations were quite high, but not unrealistic. I personally think that 1900 Park Fair and the Crystal Palace in WDW do a better job with the food than the cruise restaurants.

The weather was great, but I recommend BONINE or motion sickness wrist bands. Day 3 off the boat and we are still rocking.

Overall this was an awesome time, especially for the children. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

PS CEDOMIR and DIEGO are incredible servers and deserve special mention. I would like to suggest to all cruise goers that you tip and tip generously. I can't tell you how many people stiff the servers. If you can afford to cruise and be waited on hand and foot, you can afford to tip.

Glad you had a good cruise, we always laugh the couple of days after that we are still rocking that it extra free days on the ship!!!

Thanks for the review. We depart in April for a 4 night and as it is our first cruise, many questions abound. What excursions, if any, did you take? How was the pirate night and which night was it? Did many get dressed up? I've read that you can tip the stewards and all at guest relations prior to disembarking, thus saving time on the morning of disembarking, is that true? Do you know what time the fitness center opened in the morning? Thanks in advance for answers and any other tips you may have!

Mark

As you may have seen there has been some talk on other boards of a coupon book for Castaway Club members. Did you hear about any on your cruise? Is it something that they are doing for everyone?

Thanks.

Hi Mark! I am not who you are responding to, but being that we have been on DCL 6 times, I thought I could give you some great info. We have not been on the 4 day-doing that this summer, but they are the same. Yes, the pirate night is totally awesome!! They even have fireworks!! Yes, some dress up!! My husband and I will be! Don't know what time the fitness room opens-always sleep in some from staying out at the clubs till close. But do try the rain forest room-it is sooo relaxing. And HERE is the BEST TIP OF ALL-You are ALLOWED to take your OWN LIQUOR!!! You can put it in your luggage, carry it on or ship it in advance!! Soft drinks are free unless you order soda pop from room service. Ice cream is also included!! Great for kids!! The adult only pool and hot tubs rule!! No kids allowed in there!! The food is really good in the main restaurants. The buffet is good for a buffet. Have seen cavier on it! Castaway Cay is totally awesome!! And yes, you do all of your tipping on the final night of the cruise. They have a wonderful dinner show the last night-you won't want to miss it! The shows are wonderful, the staff are great, and after you go on Disney you will always be comparing other cruise lines with Disney. Have a great trip!!

Have you been before?? I heard the same thing. For Castaway Club members only, they are supposed to be giving out 1 duffle bag per room(just like the towels), and inside the bag is a book of coupons. I don't think it is the huge one that they sell at the shopping seminars, but I could be wrong.

Hrmmmmmmmm.... I was on the Wonder in January. We did get a lovely beach tote, but there was no coupon book inside. Wonder what happened there.
