My recent stay at Star Island Resort

I just wanted to report back about my stay at Star Island from July 5-12. My group included me, my mom and 3 teens (18, 16, and 15) We had a great week! We had a 3BR unit which is really a lock-off unit with 2BRs and a den with a sleeper sofa. This met out needs just fine. Star Island has a lot of negative reviews and I was really iffy about it but I booked it through RCI as an exchange as it was the only 3BR unit I could find for my dates and for the exchange rate I needed. I was nervous about it but all turned out well. I called in advance and requested an updated unit and the unit I received was immaculate. It was recently renovated and from what I understand all units are being renovated.

We loved having free wi-fi, washer/dryer and a patio facing the lake. The kids enjoyed the pools when we were there even though we spent most of the week in the Parks. No problems with parking.....I actually parked well away from others at the end of the lot near my building as I had a rental car and really didn't want anyone dinging the car from opening their car doors.

I didn't find the area sketchy at all but again, we weren't there much. The location was good for me and the driving to the parks wasn't bad at all.
