Hello all!! I survived Race for the Taste and 4 hours of walking in EPCOT after for the Food and Wine festival with my family. My official time is 1:28:38. I met a couple of WISH'ers that were very nice, one at the start line (I think her bib said Morgan, sorry I wasn't feeling so great right before the start) and a few at the finish line including CarolA, hi Carol :wave2: and a nice lady who was trying to give away her strawberry shortcake ticket. We stayed at Coronado the night before and it was great for convience but I don't think we'd stay there again, glad we did it once. Below is a pic of me and my friend Ayelet, I'm in green, who raced with me and our medals. Looking forward to the next one...the 1/2!!

Sharon...it was nice to meet you too!! Thanks for the offer of the ticket, that was very kind of you. We were headed to Food and Wine after the race so everyone was saving stomach room and I was in no shape at that point to eat strawberry shortcake. The watermelon and banana at the finish line were very tasty though!!

Congratulations on your event!

It is always fun to meet WISH Team members!

Good pic! Nice job!

Saw some WISHers out there, but don't think I spotted you. Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself.

P.S. Morgan's s/n is curiouser. She's still at Disney, so she won't see your post for awhile!

Thanks! She spotted me at the start and we talked for a few minutes but I wasn't feeling so great so I'm sure she told me her DIS name but I didn't remember.

Congratulations on your race!!!!!! I could not do the strawberry shortcake either, too much, too soon.... FYI, I thought about your quote the week before the race because I never thought I'd be fast enough, and I had to keep reminding myself, It doesn't matter what people think. Thanks for the inspiration:)

Ahhh, thanks Leigh!

Theres a quote by Lance Armstrong that I really like, I have it on my myspace page. I want to make a tshirt with the words PEACE, LOVE, RUN, 13.1 on the front and the saying on the back...

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever...Lance Armstrong

 it!

oooh... another good one, quitting is very bad, you always remember quitting something. That being said I think I'll go work out instead of lurking around on the computer.:rotfl2:

Hi Suzanne!! Yes, that was me! Sorry that you weren't feeling so well that morning but you did a great job!!

Many thanks to the WISHers at the end cheering people on :) My crazy DBF filmed while running the race so that's on our Trip Blog (in my siggy) if anyone is interested. Great job to all the finishers!!

Hi Morgan!!

I just saw your reply. Glad you had a good race. I watched some of your running videos, very fun, and great pictures! Once we crossed the start line, I was fine. Between the heat, the stinky man (OMG!) and feeling boxed in as more people lined up, I wasn't so great leading up to the race. I noticed you are from Ohio, my husbands family lives a few towns west of Cedar Point.

Oh my GOD, the stinky guy in the yellow shirt was AWFUL!! I had to walk to the other side of the corral because he was making me sick to my stomach. The funny thing is that I remembered your PSA post on here and knew he was the type of guy you were talking about!

I'm about 45 minutes from Cedar Point. Sadly, I haven't been up there in about 5 years - Disney has ruined it for me. ;)

I've decided for the 1/2 marathon, I am bringing a small bottle of spray, any kind, maybe even febreeze with me to the start line. I just don't understand how you can smell like that at 6:30am before the race even starts and how you can not smell yourself. :headache: :confused3

We usually vacation in Ohio every other summer but haven't been to Cedar Point in about 5 or 6 years also. Last time we were up there, we drove into Canada to Niagara Falls, it was amazing!!

Are you doing the 1/2 in January?
