My PS troubles....

So I called this morning just before 9am to make PS for Carnation Cafe breakfast on 10.31. DL opens at 9am that day, and I know Main St. opens 1 hour earlier, so I was hoping for an 8:15am PS. The first available time they had available for a party of 5 was 9:40am!!! How did that fill up so fast!! I have never had trouble with getting PS at the time I was planning.

I believe that the PS lines open at 8:00 AM and Halloween is going to be a popular day. I think people in Nevada have that day off or something. Makes sense to me that some of the earlier slots may be taken.

It's probably the size of your party and, if I recall correctly, that they had been open already for 2 hours taking PSs!

That's funny...I called earlier this week to make a ressie at Carnation Cafe for Sept 15 - park opens at 10 am, I asked if 10 am was the earliest ressie I could get, and I was told yes Should I call back and ask for 9 am?

It doesnt hurt to try. I have always been told that Main St. opens 1 hour earlier than the rest of the park, unless the park is opening at 8am (or earlier). So I have always assumed that PS could be made that early as well, but maybe not. I have to call back tomorrow to make another PS, I will have to ask them to be sure.

We do have the day off... the last Friday of October is given as a holiday to celebrate the founding of the state. Typically a good chunk of the state heads to CA and DLR in particular. Add that to the fact that it is also on Halloween proper this year and it is going to be a very busy weekend at DLR indeed!

I thought that only certain TS places were open early like Minnies at the Plaza not all of Main Street but I could be wrong...

OP's post made me panic, because I hadn't gotten around to making PS's for my 10/12-10/16 trip. So I finally made some decisions and called; happily it's not quite that busy that week and I had no problem. Whew! Cafe Orleans dinner, Ralph Brennan's dinner, Minnie & Friends breakfast, Napa Rose dinner (chef's counter) and BB lunch on our last day. I'm psyched!

Im not sure either, I was just assuming it was all of Main St. I forgot to ask when I was on with them today, guess I will call back later. Either that or I will call on Wednesday when I make my PS for Storytellers.

Ok, just called back and spoke with Chad again. Carnation Cafe does not open early like the rest of Main St. He also told me Main St. only opens 1/2 hour earlier than the rest of the park (although it does remain open 1 hour after park closing). It only opens 1 hour earlier on MM days. Now I am not as upset, being that my PS could only be 40 minutes earlier rather than 1 1/2 earlier.
