My pic of the day (trip report link added see post #1)

I loved Japan when I was there... Spent a week in Tokyo 3 1/2 yrs total but only a total of 1 lousy week in the big city...The Tokyo Dome was cool for a concert. It was very expensive.
The subways are a sight to see...nothing like being stuck right up against someone you never met!
I wish I could go to Tokyo Disney some day....maybe when I will the lottery!!

Cannot wait to see more pics!!!!!

Have a blast for all of us!

I'm back in Texas, sitting on my own couch, using my own internet. It might be a couple of days before I get more stuff posted. I've got a trip report in process on my work laptop. I woke up in Tokyo 30 hours ago and except for partial nap on the plane I think it's time to get some real sleep. Stay tuned.

Seriously, I can remember in the day before Disney Japan opened up how a great deal of the people in the WDW parks were from Japan. Now it seems a more evenly world mix of people, to me. (most of the time)

Mike,,
Another question for you.

When you are at Disneyland-Japan, and you are walking thru the entrance and down Main Street, (or thru the park)
do you get that same wonderful magical feelings that you get when you walk into-thru the MK at WDW ?

We would love to do Japan Disney some day !

Tokyo Disneyland is setup very different from the US parks. Both CA Disneyland and FL Magic Kingdom have very similar mainstreets. Tokyo Disneyland you enter through the World Bazaar, just not quite the same as Main Street. Many similar shops, but just not the same feel at all.

We watched the videos I had made of the parades and shows when I got home Wednesday and my DD 15 made the comment that the fireworks show just didn't evoke the same reaction as the show at the Magic Kingdom. She had just gone in May with the HS band. That being said some of the parades and shows are very good at getting that reaction. The BraviSEAmo! show at Disney Sea is really pretty incredible.

In addition to more pictures I will also try to get my videos up. I have video of the following parades and shows:

Tokyo Disneyland

Jubilation! parade
Let's Go Villains! parade
Tokyo Disneyland Electric Parade; Dream Lights
Dreams fireworks show
Banzai! Villains parade

Tokyo Disney Sea
The Legend of Mythica
BraviSEAmo!

I'm really looking forward to the pics and video!

I have a gf that travels to Japan every few years to visit her grandparents. The pictures I have seen of the malls and playgrounds etc are AMAZING! I pictured Disney to be elaborate and over the top just the same??

Anyway...looking forward to your report!!

This pic was taken in Disneyland on Monday at roughly 11am local time. It gives you an idea of the crowd level that day.

Mike, first, thanks for the pics and video and glad to hear your home safe and sound.
Second, I was wondering. As I was looking at your pic of the crowd at 11:00 am on Monday, it occured to me that there are only two strollers (that I could see). I don't see many children in the pic ~ did you find it was mostly an older crowd there? Just wondering.

Actually there were quite a few families there and a lot of kids. It was probably just coincidence that my photo didn't show a lot of strollers.

Karla, that's pretty good, I don't see any. Just one question. Where's Waldo?

Looks fun, Mike! You are missing the end of marching season! Lucky guy!

No, actually not.

I got back in time to drive the instrument truck for our last long out of town game Friday. Then we had the Area marching contest yesterday. We have 2 more regular season games, then the possibility of playoffs (even with our sorry football team.)

The extra activity has made it a bit more difficult to get my body back in the right time zone, but I had a good nights sleep last night so I think I may be back in central daylight time.

I have to work on my expense report today, and if I get that done I may get my trip report and pics up on the board. The trip report is actually about 99% complete sans pictures.

Oh my gosh! Those photos were amazing. You're wonderful for taking soooo many! :lovestruc the decorations there.

Looks like a great time and a fun place. One of these days I'm gonna win the lottery and figure out how to get the trailer to Tokyo!
