My Pet Swap stuff arrived this morning!

I made a set of elements for the Pet Swap that Kat hosted back earlier this year, mailed it off and it disappeared completely so I had to make another set. I think that was back in something like February or very early March?

Anyway, I went out to get the mail this morning and there was a large, floppy Tyvek USPS envelope sitting on my porch. It only had my address and no return address and I had no idea what it could be. I opened it and my completely mutilated first Pet Swap envelope fell out.

The gallon bag that all the pieces were in had a HUGE hole in it and one of the baggies was missing. One third of the envelope had been ripped off.

I can't believe it was just returned. There was no note or anything inside. The original envelope was stamped "Undeliverable as packaged". Gee, I wonder if it was undeliverable as packaged because the Post Office ripped it to shreds!

So now what do I do with 7 copies of the same element?

I'm glad it came back though. I'm still waiting on lost mail that has been missing about a month. I figure I'll get it around christmas.

Those postal machines are really doing a number on mail in the past few months. I've gotten so much stuff that is mutilated. I'm sure it was torn apart by one of the USPS machines and then went to some remote office at USPS where a worker sits trying to make sense out of the mess and then repackages V-E-R-Y slowly. Actually, I think they do have an office for that. Well, glad you at least know the end of the story!! LOL!!

Sorry! 7 sets of kitty stuff. I can totally use one set but I think it will look weird if I put 7 sets of the same thing in my kitties' book.

I think they DO have a damaged mail facility. I guess it must be in Alaska judging by how long it takes for them to return it. Now if I could just get back the TWO circle journals that got eaten as well!

Yes. For the same circle, too. After the 2nd one disappeared, I gave up and dropped out of the circle. I don't know if it was because they were going to Seattle or because of my local Post Office but I certainly don't go to that branch any more. I think I've just about convinced myself that there is a scrapbooker there that really likes my stuff and is keeping it for herself and her friends.

Thanks! I really loved my topic, too. It was "I Simply Must Have Your Recipe" and it was supposed to be that one dish that is your fail-safe for potlucks, etc. I thought it would be SO GOOD!

I'm sad, too. My first one was really pretty.

I am thinking I will host another pet swap in place of my ABC swap in September since we have one currently running and it will end to close to starting another one.

Are they different than the ones you sent again for the kitty swap? If so I wouldn't mind one. Also, remember the embellishment box will be coming your way eventually you could throw a couple in there

I knew it was a while ago but I forgot it was January. Sheesh!

They are identical - same design, same papers. (I'm a one-trick pony once I come up with a design) so I don't think you would want another. I'll send one to AWM for sure. Great idea about sticking them in the embellie box! I can also send some for hostess gifts and things as well as if we have another duplicates and extras. I'm more just grouchy that I had to make a second batch AND they just came back 6 months later!
