My pet peeve..Wondering if others feel the same way?

We’re seniors and spend most of our vacation enjoying the resort we’re at. So we obviously relax on our patio…Does anyone else think the patio chairs need to be updated..THEY ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE! Maybe even adding cushions would help! I usually bring out the bedroom pillows.
I love to sit on the patio and read…it would be great to even take a little nap…
What are your thoughts?

I agree. The metal chairs at Boardwalk are awful. I usually bring a couple of towels out. One for the back and arms and one folded up for the seat. There are many styles of patio chairs that would be better.

i learned that the orange cushions from the dining area chairs at Animal Kingdom Jambo fit nicely on the balcony chair seats, make them so much more comfy, then a pillow from the bed for the back

Agree completely. It makes me wonder if the buyer ever tried to sit on one of those chairs - they’re awful. Thanks for the idea of the pillows,

The new balcony chairs at the Boardwalk Villas are absolutely horrendous The old metal ones were bad but these new ones from the refurb take the cake for being uncomfortable

JMHO the (lack of) comfort level is by design…guests aren’t spending $ when sitting on the balcony.

I've never had a complaint about balcony chairs until we stayed at the Boardwalk back in March. Whoever OKed the purchase of those horrid chairs should be fired. We did end up bringing some throw pillows from the living room (we were in a two bedroom) that made them tolerable. But seriously. Did anyone actually sit in those things prior to buying them???

I agree the new chairs at BWV are terrible.
I could not sit for more than a few minutes.
Replace them please.!!!
We had 4 people of various body shapes ,sizes and weights.
Not one found the chairs comfortable.
Maybe Disney plot to get DVD members and guests out of room?
So we can spend more money??(lol)

We brought the Boardwalk ones in to sit in the living room - they were fine for a meal chair. Even with pillows they were iffy for a patio chair. I added blow up cushions to my travel kit after that

We are also DVC'rs that no longer go to the parks and enjoy the resorts now. Just got back from AKL and enjoyed the balcony alot and those chairs were ok. We are BCV owners and the first thing I do when we arrive, is take the towel animals off the bed and put those towels on the balcony chairs. They are so cold! That helps. But we're huge pool goers, so not on balcony for too long. But completely agree with you, I wish they would replace them all to more comfy places to relax.

I hate the patio chairs at most of the resorts (Wilderness Boulder Ridge's metal ones are not horrible, but they're one of the few). But most of the time, I just grab one of the kitchen table chairs and bring it on the balcony to sit (obviously not an option if you're in a studio).

My guess is they don’t have cushions due to weather and such.

But it would be nice if they were available from mousekeeping for your stay with a call to them!

I've stayed at both BCV and Boardwalk and hate the balcony chairs. But last week I stayed at the Poly and fell in love with their chairs. A double vinyl thick weave with good give and take and not cold to the touch. .I tried to look for the brand but could not find it. Anyone have any idea who makes those?
