My Pet Peeve of the day: If it's the only thing you sell, flippin have it!

Do you have any idea how badly I want some fried chicken right now??

i think I'm gonna have to go to KFC and get my mashed potato bowl now cause of you people... ::sigh:: to bad they don't have the meal for 2.99.

We were staying with some friends, and I went with one of them to McD's to pick up a late night snack for every one. I told him to not go to the one across the street as it was horrible, drive the 2-3 miles down 192 to the one in front of Old Town.
he didn't listen and ended up waiting for the car in front of us to order a meal (you would think they were ordering for like 20 people). We pull up and wait and wait and wait for the girl to finally ask for our order. I wanted a grilled snack wrap and he wanted a crispy, so I said I'd go with crispy, since they have the special on 2. Well they only had one piece left of grilled chicken to make a snack wrap. We got to the window finally to pay, and the girl was complaining about how there was only 3 of them and blah blah blah. There could be 10 of them there and still be slow.
After we finally pulled away, I told him, told ya should've gone to the other one. It would've been a lot faster. And you probably would've ended up with what you wanted.

So for any one that drives to disney...never go to the McD's that's on 192 next to the go-kart place next to the old castle dinner show that has been boarded up for ages. I've never had anything but problems going there, and thier sodas always tastes like there's soap in it or something. Looks are very decieving.

This reminds me of when I went to Taco Bell a few years back.

I ordered nachos and they said they were out of cheese. So I ordered a taco and they replied that they were out of meat. :confused3

So I stood there, dumbfounded, and the guy said, "Well, are you going to order?"

I replied, "What do you serve that doesn't have meat or cheese?"

I got silence.

I left, emptyhanded.

Why were they even open??!! :lmao:

We were at a Dairy Queen a few weeks ago and they ran out of ice cream. DH and ds walked out with the last of it and they locked the door behind them. They were supposed to be open for another hour yet.

Edited to add: They still had the ice cream bars, etc. They ran out of the ice cream for the cones, malts, shakes and sundaes.

Our TGIF sends someone to Meijer if they run out of something.

I've been to KFC when they had no chicken, Wendy's when they had no hamburgers, Pizza Hut when they had no pizza.

Maybe they should change their slogan to "Chicken that's worth the wait".

We went to a Chinese restaurant a couple of weeks ago, they are well known for having a long wait, we had never been before but friends had recommended it but warned us about the long wait. Well, we were surprised when we arrived there and there was an ACTUAL SIGN!!!! saying "Please do not rush our serving staff. Our food is worth the wait. If you are patient you will be greatly rewarded!" And darned if the food didn't take a full HOUR to arrive at our table! And it was not crowded. It was Saturday but like 5 PM and only a couple other tables there at the time. We still laugh about the sign but WOW, it was really, really good food! And we left a huge tip and will go back again!! Hey, as long as they're honest about the slow service...:rotfl2:

That reminds me of our never ending quest to get the chicken pot pie from KFC! There was one winter when I was constantly sick and all I wanted was either a good chicken noodle soup or KFC chicken pot pie. Every single time my husband would try to get me the pot pie, they were sold out. One time he got exasperated and said, "What does it take to get a pot pie around here???" and the cashier admitted that they only made 3-5 a night and everybody wants them so they go fast. :scared1: Now there's some good business sense for ya! He tried all winter and never did get me that chicken pot pie. :lmao:

Mmm...I do love the KFC chicken pot pie. :lovestruc

I totally understand what the op is saying; our local Subway often runs out of bread:confused3

Another poster mentioned Dairy Queen and it reminded me of something ---

Years ago when I was pregnant with DD I had such a craving for a chocolate ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. When I ordered it the guy behind the counter said "We only got vanilla here". OK. I didn't want vanilla so I ordered a cherry "mister misty" (it's a slushy with a crushed ice consistency). I paid for my order, walked back to the car, and when I took a sip from the straw it was just concentrated cherry flavoring. Guess they didn't have ice either! BLECH!

I used to work at a sub shop and we would run out of rolls all the time. The manager was afraid to order too many and he stuck with the excess every night. So they under ordered.

We have Popeye's chicken places here and just like your KFC, OP, they are always out of chicken! No matter what time we go, they tell us it will be X minutes and please pull up. They used to tell you when you ordered, now they wait until after you pay. I guess to make sure you don't just leave! :headache:

At Popeye's they have spicy and mild chicken. Its always the mild legs (dd favorites) that they are out of and they always ask if we will take spicy. NO!! She can't eat it! GRRRRRR! I always want to scream at them--if you are running out all the time why on God's green earth do you not cook MORE!!

I used to work at a fried chicken place, and the pp is correct you only cook a certain amount at a time. BUT, you should watch the time, know when your buiest times are and put chicken down 15-20 minutes before the rush. Then watch the amount and about 15 minutes after that is cooked, if you need it put down some more and so on and so forth. Its not hard to keep up, just takes a little want to.

DH & I ate at the Italian restaurant at one particular casino here in LV; and he tried to order a steak entree & was told they were out.

Now, this is a casino with about NINE restaurants, one of which is a STEAKHOUSE. Can't they just get a steak from another restaurant?

Evidently not.
