My niece at MK in an Electric Wheelchair: what can she do?

Hi All,

My family is going to Florida next month and my niece is 8, has Arthrogryposis, and uses an electric wheelchair. We are planning to hit the MK for sure, perhaps other parks if things go good.

Due to her condition, she can't transfer from wheelchair to ride without being physically picked up and transferred by family.

I've never noticed on the rides and such but what ones at the MK have special 'wheelchair friendly' rides? I am almost positive that IASW has a special boat that she can drive onto but I could be wrong? Maybe that was LWTL at Epcot?

We will be doing the physical transfers, just trying to prepare for which rides she can ride onto and which will have to transfer.

Hi! If she can sit up on say atoilet without support she should be able to ride just about anything. When I was younger & stronger I even rode splash mountain with Dad's arms around me. Some rides like soarin' have especially easy transfer's.

our last trip I didn't transfer and still had a great time. MK has less wheelchair attractions and I would look at other parks. It's a bit dated but the link to the trip report of our last trip is in my signature (for reference)

IASW, Jungle Cruise, Aladdin, and Winnie the Pooh are all wheelchair accessible. Peter Pan cannot be stopped so might be a problem. Pirates she would have to be transferred to a manual chair to get to the ride and then transferred into the ride vehicle. Stitch does have spaces for wheelchairs as do all of the shows. The rest I am not sure of.
