Anyone rent a small fridge or cooler for meds at BC, do you know how much it costs?

Thanks!

When we were at POR in Dec. my son was on liquid antibiotic.
When I told them at the front check in, we got the fridge for free.

If the resort won't let you have a fridge for free for meds it will rent one to you for $10 per day. We were staying at CBR once for two weeks, had driven down from SC and decided to go to the Sears store and purchased a small fridge for about $65. Once the trip was over we took it back with us and saved quite a bit of money in the process. It is worth a shot at telling them in advance that you need a fridge for medications and you just may luck out. Also, if they don't offer it for free when you call, try again at check-in. There are also some new coolers out there that can be plugged in. Good luck.

Thanks!!

Lisajl,

Can you tell me what kind of fridge it is? Is it also large enough to store food in?

Thanks again!

Well...it's a small fridge. We got our soda in there..about 8 cans and some cheese. Not enough room really for much.

I just happened to mention about the meds, and the person checking us in, told us it was free due to the meds.
We did not have to show her or anything.

Fridges are free with medical reasons- one of our son's oral steroids for asthma must be refrigerated and we've always gotten it at no charge. Just make a note of it when you make your reservations- and maybe remind them of it in a fax a couple days before you go.

FYI, someone posted in another thread on the subject that you might be charged for the fridge if you put anything but the meds in it. You might want to scroll back and check out the other tread too.

At the BC you can move things around a bit in the minibar and squeeze in meds...no worries about being charged for a fridge that way.

**We were not charged for keeping things in there other than the meds.

We were not charged for the fridge at WL and BC for meds. I didn't make any special requests. When we checked into WL, I had the med with me, and pulled it out for the CM, she called housekeeping (they were running low that day but since we needed it for medical reasons we got moved to the top of the list)and we weren't charged. I also kept milk in there (you can fit 2 half gallons) without a problem. When we moved to the BC, I forgot to tell them when we checked in, and when we got up to our room, I called housekeeping and told them I needed a fridge for an antibiotic, and it came (I kept other things in there as well) and we were not charged again!!
