My neighbor parked his car in the house on purpose... pictures are in post #17 & 111

Thank you for keeping me entertained at work the last couple of days...:rotfl2:

From what you've said the wife will not have a harsh reaction....I think it would've been a different reaction if he had broken something.

But I have a feeling she'll just look a lot like this :sad2:

Please keep reminding the dork what a doofus he's been!!

...

My dd saw him outside on her way home from the bus stop and wanted to make sure he didn't plan to start the engine in the house- and then she asked if he had thought of a portable tent to use as a cover- he told her that this was just easier...

And for him it probably was easier lol

Now THAT is the funniest thing I've ever heard! :rotfl:

Well his wife came home this afternoon- while I was out picking up the kids- so no pictures- lol

But I found out she was home because I could hear her talking on the phone from across the street- you know when you have an 8 foot hole in the wall you may need to speak more softly...

Anyway- she was saying something about "yeah and I come home and the car is in the house and there is a big hole in the side of the house"

She was laughing shortly after that- so my guess is she was calling her daughter and sharing the news of what she came home to

I'll talk to her this weekend I'm sure and get her response in person

Holy cow. I have no words for this.

Sounds like he has a VERY understanding wife though. He is lucky.

And I thought my DH was crazy when he asked me if it was OK for him to paint the ceiling of our rec room black...now it seems like a perfectly reasonable request!

She was laughing???!!!!! Oh my, sign her up for the Dis!:thumbsup2

This man needs help and his wife needs even more help for even thnking this is remotely amusing.

This is inappropriate behavior from a grown man.

He'd be at a psychiatrist if he was my DH.

So, he's rebuilding the wall....while the car is still inside the house?????? For the price of lumber and supplies the replace the wall, window and door and fix the fireplace he could have bought a car cover (far cheaper I'm sure) or had a carport built. They don't already have a garage that he could have parked it in? I'm so lost as to why anyone would do such a thing. Thanks for sharing, you've made your neighbor a mini-celebrity here on the DIS.

Well I spoke with the wife- found out he sold her on the idea by offering to replace former wall/door/window with a double set of French Doors- which is something she always wanted there to begin with.

And the New wall he is working on is the frame and all for the french doors- he is finishing it all off now- while the car is still inside and when it is time to take the car out- he'll just have to remove the doors

Of course while the process is occurring the OSB wall goes back up- but he did reinforce that some from the first night.

And as for cost- this really isn't costing him anything- he has all the supplies and equipment- and like I said before this guy is the King of Curbies- he is not ashamed to pick things up off of the side of the rode to reuse. So I don't believe he actually went out and bought anything at all for this... it was stuff he already had or things he picked up off the rode.

You'd think their house would be junky but it really is pretty- and gets many admirers

OMG, that is the funniest thing I've seen in a looooong time!! :lmao: :rotfl:
If that was my DH he would be sooo dead.
Glad the wife took it so well.

My Brother's Dining Room...

(yes, he's single)

I just have to say, that this wins the Crazy Neighbor Contest! Wow! :thumbsup2 I don't see how there is even enough room to work on the car now! What is he thinking?!?

Holy cow. That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. That wife must be extremely easy-going. I wouldn't be laughing anytime soon after I came home to that.

I hope y'all are having nice weather in LA.;)

:lmao:

This is the first time i came to this thread.
It is hysterical! :rotfl:

I would have been screaming so loud the whole neighborhood would be calling the cops.
That is one understanding wifeand a stupid husband.:lmao:

I think she's smarter than we're giving her credit for..What's done is done...:scratchin

This has the makings of a great bargaining possibilities. The sky's the limit....:flower3:

I had a '66 in high school and college. it was tht same color blue with the same color interior. I miss my car! :sad1:

(All *undressed* like it is, it look soo much like my old one that I even went back in the thread to see what year that one was when I saw that the OP lives in Louisiana too! LOL!)

Just to update...

the car is still in the house. No further along than when my husband helped push it into the house. They have rearranged the living room a bit to allow access to their furniture- but the car is still in the center.

I just think it is funny that the car was originally purchased 2 years before it went into the house for their dtr who has been in college going on 3 years now and still hasn't driven it.

Wife is extremely tolerant- and some of you may have met the husband if you have been affected by the recent floods- he works for FEMA and has been away for a few months now working the claims there.
