My Neighbor Is So Immature - Ignore or Confront? UPDATE POST 43

I'm still trying to figure out where jfulcer gets the idea that the neighbors and I have had immature moments in the past?????

And you know what???? IT FELT REALLY GOOD to let off a little steam at them!

This tells me even more. If you and I - total strangers thousands of miles apart - can't have different opinions about the same situation without you suddenly feeling the need to be vulgar, I think there is a LOT more to this neighbor battle than what meets the eye.

But jflucer - you have not been giving an OPINION - you are stating that I am the bad guy here because we accidently cut some grass. And there is NO MORE TO THIS NEIGHBOR BATTLE as you so put it - we have no relationship whatsoever with these people despite what you may think. Plus, I totally welcome people's opinion - or else I would not have posted here.

So instead of getting into a huge arguement with him over it, we communicated and problem solved. I could have gone and continued to rake leaves for my wife and stuck my toungue out at this neighbor, but we know how well that works, don't we?

That's another thing - there is no PROBLEM. We made ONE mistake in cutting the grass and all of a sudden it is a problem???

There was no problem EVER - that's why I am so shocked by my neighbor's childish reaction to the accident. Maybe if we had done this over and over every week, I could see the problem - but one mistake??? And when did I ever stick my tongue out at them????? Do you know something I don't???

I don't see anyone saying you're the bad guy here, just offering opinions about how the neighbors may be perceiving the situation and offering ways you might better and more maturely deal with them.

If it walks like a duck, acts like a duct and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. And yes, what I have is just a guess. But I have a really hard time believing your neighbors would go off the deep end and act this way after ONE thing.

I never said you were a bad guy. I said you should have talked to them - even if it was after the fact and they started chatting with other neighbors about it. If you found out that they had a problem with what is by your own admission an accident and a mistake then you should have offered an apology. If I'm doing something for my boss and make a mistake I say "ooops, I'm sorry". If I'm step on my daughter's toes accidentally, I say "Ooops, sorry!"

I saw him standing there and I started over-dramatically rubbing my eyes and making baby-crying noises (I know that was bad - I couldn't control myself!!!) and he got embarassed and went in the house.

I'm sorry, you're right. You didn't stick your tongue out. You acted immature - by your own admission - acted like a crybaby and embarassed your neighbor. I'm sorry for saying you stuck your tongue out.

See how that apology thing works when you make a mistake :wave2: ?
