Everything was perfectly planned, we had 12 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, which I knew was gorgeous because I had stayed there way back in 1997. I had assured my sceptical DH that it was perfect for us and I had even recommended it to friends of ours. I made all of our ADR's and planned to catch the boat to Downtown Disney on our first night and have a "wild" dinner at T-Rex.

All of a sudden DH decided to suprise me with an upgrade - only problem was that there was obviously no way that he could keep it a secret - so together we decided on the Wilderness Lodge.

So now I have changed a couple of ADR's and am thrilled to think that we can catch the boat to and from the Magic Kingdom - and the thought of sitting and staring up in that lobby has my heart racing! DH is thrilled too, we had seen the lobby of the Grand Californian back in 2009 when we were in Disneyland and he LOVED it. So when I showed him pictures of the WL he was sold.

This is, without doubt, the holiday of a lifetime for us. NYC, WDW, Atlantis in the Bahamas and then Las Vegas, it makes the long hours at work worth it. That, and the knowledge that in 2 months I will be warm!!

Has anybody else changed their minds when everything was already done? PS...Less than 2 months left on the ticker!!

Busy Busy, did you change your New York Hotel too because I thought you were staying at Radio City Apartments but I think you are at Doubletree now?

Congratulations Busy Busy. Enjoy staying at WL; and what a lovely DH you have!

So....now all that remains is for you to change your Atlantis hotel in Bahamas ...followed by your hotel in Las Vegas.....and you'll have the clean sweep.

I changed last September from 11 nights at POP to 5 nights at WL and 6 nights at POP, but I did the change less than 2 weeks out . We loved Wilderness Lodge, it was beautiful.

I do have a lovely DH, it was him who suggested Atlantis too. He went there on his ship in the British Navy, so when he realized how close to Orlando it was he was convinced that we would need a rest after WDW, so all that I will think of for 5 days is "which pool today?!". It will also make it easier to leave WDW (I dread that day!)

I had Radio City Apartments in NYC all ready to book when DH woke me up at 2am one night to tell me that he had just booked the DoubleTree! He got an email about 20% off and booked it straight away. Who was I to argue with 5 nights for the price of 4?

Ms Shuttergirl, you can take some of the credit for the Wilderness Lodge too, I had been reading your trip report and I was amazed by how many things you did that we either did last time in NYC, or have planned this time. So up popped DH's suggestion to upgrade, up popped your pics on the Ipad in my lap, and up I popped to grab the phone to call WDW!!!

.....and by the way, there will be a change to the Atlantis hotel and the Bellagio in Vegas over my dead body! I'm not crazy about change - I rearranged my linen press today and I am still coming to terms with it!!

By the way, the Dis is like crack......I love it!

Well done on the upgrade Busy Busy.... I knew there was something missing in my life - I need to get me a DH who will surprise me with Disney Trips & upgrades aswell .... maybe when my daughters leave home, I could concentrate on that... I would hate to think this is my last trip.... but I do ok as a single mum...

You must be going similar time to us..... we are at 50 days leaving Melbourne for Kentucky Sept 6...

I say embrace the change! After months and months of having my NY accom sorted and mentally mapping things in my head (where American Girl is in relation to our hotel for example), I changed hotels in a heartbeat... on a whim (and a thread lol)!

I haven't stayed at Wilderness Lodge, but have done the RV thing at Fort Wilderness next door (in massive WDW terms that is) and that was AWESOME so I think you're going to love WL!

Yes. The Dis crack. I have six different threads open right now lol and I just lost this weekend to trip planning!
