Hi Janet, welcome to my little adventure! I know I have a lot of lurkers too as my view count is pretty high. Y'all can say hi, I won't bite.....
A!!! I'm so glad you came over to actually read the story. I know you know how it turns out since I called you right before dinner and again after because I knew you'd be so happy for me!
Picking up where I left off.....
My tummy started to grumble while we were in CoP. Dinner was still over 2 hrs away so I suggested a little snack. I said I'd probably be able to ignore the rumblings though if I had something to occupy myself and told DH that I'd like to go to Main Street. (Food and shopping..... I could kill two birds.

) He'd suggested Casey's earlier in the day, I still don't know why as we've never eaten there before and we have no big attraction to hot dogs. I figured we could share some fries or something so off we went. He decided he needed to find a restroom and told me to go order something. I told him I'd be right outside when I got done so he didn't lose me. (Yep, we've done that before..... twice in the same trip......) I ordered the corn dog nuggets, fries and a water. I figured DH would split them with me. As I came out of Casey's, a table right at teh edge of the seating area opened up so I took it. I kept an eye out for DH as I chatted with another guest and nibbled on my food.
When DH came back he told me we had to get moving. I'm a bit confused. He told me the crowd was staring to gather for the first Spectro of the night and he didn't want to get stuck in it. Well, ok....... I grabbed my tray and we went on our way; right up Main Street??!?!? For not wanting to get stuck in the crowd, it was an unusual path to take. I stopped outside the collecible shop and looked at the Dooney and Bourke bags in the window. DH called me inside and we started looking at the Jim Shore pieces. I already have a few of them and thought DH was going to buy me another one. But we walked on, into the art shop.
We've spent a lot of very happy time looking at all the art work that's available so this was nothing new to me. I admired some new Alice in Wonderland prints and DH showed me a new Snow White cel in the display case. He went over to the CM at the register and talked to her for a moment. I thought maybe he was asking about the pricing and didn't think twice about it. He came and stood by me a moment later. The CM walked over with a piece of paper in her hand and said, "Is this it?" and handed it to DH. I looked over his arm thinking maybe she was showing him a price list of detail of something and it turned out to be an envelope. On it was the clue I typed out in my first post. There were Micky ears drawn at the top with the number 1 inside them. It said "Do Not Open" on the envelope. I looked at DH confused for a moment and he said "This is for you." Ok, what's for me? the envelope? Well, it's a clue of some sort.
It took me a moment to register that my adventure had just started. DH asked me if I knew where to go. Without hesitation I said "The Tiki Room!" (Another attraction I remember from my first trip to DL.

) He said "You'd better hurry!" So I was off, almost as fast as the kids once he gave them their freedom. I didn't get very far before I decided to share my adventure with every one so I updated my FB page: OMG!!!! The surprise is my very own personal scave ger hunt through Magic Kingdom! I don't know how he got them to do it but my first clue was given to me by a CM in the art store on Main Street. (I sent it with the typo.....) A second later, I got the brilliant idea to post here on DIS as well. It took a bit to actually get my phone to do what I wanted (stupid tiny text on a small touch screen) but I made it work and began my story.
I've never heard of anyone having a scavenger hunt like this so I was going to share it with everyone as it progressed. I thought it would be an unusual story and different from what I've read in the past. I also had no idea how he set it all up and was just thrilled that he went through all the trouble to even do it. Since it started out live, it's all brand new and raw. I didn't have any time to process anything; I was so in the moment and excited. Maybe I could convey that and people would think they were in the park with me.
