1900 Park Faire and Prince Charming
After our second go-around with the characters in Epcot, we decided it was time to make our way over to the Grand Floridian Hotel. Earlier that morning I had decided I would take dds Cinderella dress along with us to the park just in case we seemed to be running a bit late. This proved to be a good decision on my part. You see, I realized that by making early ADRs (around the 5pm time frame) it really cut into our day. I guess this would not have been so bad if I had planned our meals in relation to the parks we would be playing at each day. Trust me when I say my planning will be enhanced when it comes to our next Walt Disney vacation.
Anyway, we left Epcot behind and boarded the monorail headed for the Grand Floridian. What a beautiful hotel. The decorated lobby was truly breathtaking. There were Christmas decorations all around and a gigantic Christmas tree in the center. The Gingerbread house was amazing, and oh my goodness it smelled so good.
We found a nice restroom on an upper floor and I quickly changed our little one into a princess
.
bibbidy, bobbity boo!!! She couldnt stop smiling and neither could I. She looked so sweet and cute all dressed up as Cinderella. A couple of older ladies walked in just as dd was twirling around in her dress. They thought she was adorable and made such a fuss over her. It was a precious moment with my little one shying up and flashing that half smile/half shy grin look that I am sure all you moms are aware of. It is the cutest thing ever, I swear!
As we made our way over to 1900 Park Faire, I videotaped our little one walking and twirling and just having a grand ole time. I secretly wondered what she would do once she met Prince Charming for the first time. As I mentioned earlier, our dd had not been too keen on the real live characters. This was going to be interesting.
After checking in at the podium we were greeted by the Fairy Godmother herself. As she approached us, I felt two little arms reach around me and my little one leaned in real close. I knelt down to her level and asked her if she wanted me to go with her. Of course this was a definite shake of the head, yes! As you can see in the pictures, our dd was not so sure about this interaction, once again.
Laughing
look at those eyes! I wish I knew what she was really thinking here.
This is one of my favorites. love the way they are holding hands.
After our brief visit with the Fairy Godmother we were quicly seated in the dining hall. The meal was pretty good and we soon found ourselves stuffed. Perla and Suzy were making the rounds and our dd was getting excited. She loves these mice almost as much as Mickey and Minnie.
Our little enjoyed her meal.
Smiling once again.
She wasnt about to stay in that chair any longer. Haha.
Wow that is a big mouse.
Going in for the hug!
Holding hands
.so sweet.
I love this one
another of my favorites.
As you can see, our little one thoroughly enjoyed her time with Perla and Suzy. I can not say the same about her meeting with Prince Charming. She didnt want anything to do with him at all.
Uh, I gotta get outta here.
Nope, not gonna look at him. Uh uh.
This one cracks me up. She started picking at her dress rather than look at Prince Charming.
Next up was Cinderella. Even though she had already met Cinderella in the Magic Kingdom earlier, she still was a bit shy around her. She definitely loved the characters and was a bit timid around the live ones. I am glad it wasnt the opposite. I managed to get so many cute pictures of her with the characters and I treasure each and every one.
Again, I wish I knew what she was thinking here.
I love this one but I sure wish her sleeve did not block her face!
We said goodbye to Cinderella and made our way back out to the grand lobby! I wanted to take some pictures of our dd in front of the Christmas tree. There was this darling little boy there, just about the same age as our DD. The two of them quickly became friends and played around the tree for a little while.
Our little one seemed to be getting quite sleepy.
That is until she met her own little Prince Charming! Haha.
She was all grins after her little buddy left.
I had watched one of the Disney Christmas specials and knew that one could buy a gingerbread shingle so we headed on over to the gingerbread house. I was quite disappointed when I found out they had just run out of them. Darn it, I should have bought one when we first arrived at the Grand Floridian. Just a note to all of you, if you want one of those, get it right away because they do disappear quickly. I am sure they probably made more for the next day but we never managed to get back there. I teased my dh saying that he would just have to bring me back there next year. Hahaha
he just rolled his eyes. Silly man.
It was getting late so we decided to go home
.aka, back to our Wildernes Lodge. We figured we would get dd to bed a little early that night, however, between the two hotels she seemed to get her second wind. Once we got back to the WL, she was running all over the place and eventually made it over to the huge Christmas tree. There she met another friend, this time a cute little girl named Paige. The two of them ran around that Christmas tree and danced and danced. We sat back a ways and chatted with Paiges mom and grandma. They were very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them. Since our little one now seemed wide awake again and full of energy we decided to let her go swimming. Our new friends met us out by the pool and the kids played a bit more. After awhile we decided to walk down to the dock to watch the fireworks and the water parade. It was neat that we could see some of Wishes right there. The little ones loved the water parade. Once that was over we decided it was time to hit the hay. We said our goodbyes and headed for our room. It had been a long day but a very good one at that!
This picture makes me think she is running to the Royal Ball. Hahahaha.
She stops again to do some pin trading
haha.
What is he looking at?
She is trying to put her hand the way his is, haha.
My little princess.
