So, my mom watches my DDs during the day while DH & I work. Its kindof a running joke with DH & I...if she leaves right away when I'm done working, DH says 'Oh she left early today' I say 'yeah, why do you think' DH says 'youre kidding' i say 'nope'. Seriously...between her and my dad, they have at least 2-3 appts weekly. Now, my dad just turned 60, mom is in her 50s still...my dad did have some health problems to have checkups, but there really isn't much wrong w/my mom. But my dad has to see at least 3 drs every 3 months, my mom goes 2-3 times a week for her neck, and her arm and her foot to a chiropractor then some massage therapist. Then they go...more often then the normal 2x/yr...to the dentist, take the car in. If its a slow week, they go to the eye dr. just to have their glasses adjusted! Is this normal? I mean, even growing up, everytime I was off school, on vacation, we ALWAYS had appts scheduled! I mean, seriously, there is not 1 week that goes by where they do not have at least 2 appts. I tell my friends this and no one believes me. Does anyone know someone like this? Oh, and they're not just out cuz they're bored either...my dad works, my mom works (watching DDs) they have lots of friends they go out with, so I know its not just for social interaction either. We have 4 people with all the normal appts of dr, dentist, etc, including 2 kids, and we don't have 1/3 of the appts they have.

Yes, my in-laws have at least 2-3 appointments a week too. If there is nothing wrong-they will find something. I told my husband I am getting tired of their Friday nites that they come over and tell us about everything. Like I needed to know that some kind of tumor got taken out of my father-in-laws foot- (it was a bunion) they were convinced it was a tumor.

They both retired 3 years ago and all their retirement money is going for Dr's visits. Unless they have really good insurance-I don't know.

Last week Friday-I came home at supper time and I had Chinese take-out for my husband and son because me and my dd ate there. I was so tempted to drive away, if I wouldn't have had the chinese food with me. When I got in the house, they were raving about getting the flu shot and then they were watching my husband and son eat, my mil was picking at their food. My husband asked if they wanted any, and then said, "OH no, we just came from the Dr's office-Grandpa isn't feeling well, and we wanted to make sure he doesn't have influenza. That is when I noticed his eyes were red and swollen along with his nose and he was hacking away. They said they went to some resturant on the way home for fish and soup.

OK, he is legitamately sick-and I think they felt they needed to spread the germs. (But no fear-he has his flu shot and it is nothing contagious). Aacck!
