Hi....

YAY on the new mark being reached that is awesome...

and I love the dress...is it bad if I love the shoes more :rotfl:

J~

:rotfl: Not at all! :thumbsup2 The dress is very comfy, which will be good if it's a hot day (which it most likely will be).

Hiya, I've been reading your updates. Congrats on the 4 mile mark! Its a great accomplishment : -) I'm doing the half marathon too. I made myself a deal that if I got so far into the training schedule & I still was committed then I could register. I did on Sat! You get total kudos for registering early on!! Way to keep at it!

:welcome: Thanks for posting! :goodvibes The reason I registered before I even started running was because I know myself. I knew if I didn't register right away, I'd lose interest later on and decide not to do it. So, it was a way to keep me motivated. Congrats to you for registering! :cool1:

Congrats on the 4 miles! I need to get back out there myself. I'm planning on a run tomorrow morning and I'm a bit nervous because I've taken a couple of weeks off:eek:

Yeah. I need to get back on the treadmill. Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

I just found your thread yesterday and have already read thru the ENTIRE thing.........needless to say I haven't gotten very much done in the last two days at work :rolleyes1:

Anyhow, your story is AWESOME and very motivating. Keep up the great work and when you get in that "funK" and don't feel like doing the workout for the day remember how you felt in your W6D1 post:

"I wasn't feeling very well last night and into this morning. I didn't want to get on the treadmill, but I never give myself that option (unless I have a migraine or I'm really sick - which hasn't happened yet). Today was run for 5 minutes, walk for 3, run for 8, walk for 5, run for 5. The first 5 minute run was kind of tough as I just felt very tired and blah. But, once I warmed up, the rest of the runs went well and I actually feel better now than before I started. What a crazy concept!":cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

:welcome: Thanks so much for that! It's nice to be reminded of that now and again. :goodvibes

:welcome: Glad to see so many new readers! That's awesome on the triatholons! :thumbsup2

Hey, good job on the 4 mile and love the dress, though you should show the brown, so we can all give our opinion.:rotfl:

Just when I think I am doing good, you raise the bar for running. I only need to run 3.2 miles. But I know it is better to go beyond the distance.

I have a funny story if you don't mind a small hi-jack on your thread.

I was running last Thursday at the YMCA, and I wore the wrong sports bra, over my extra strapped cross your heart bra. I noticed I was hurting, so I laid my arm across my chest, to stop the extra bouncing. A guy about 18 was running next to me, and asked if I was having a problem. I looked at him and said, "slightly". Then he just said non-chalantly, "ya, my mom has that same problem," How embarassing. I quit running and walked my 3 miles.

So if anyone wants to become rich and famous from an invention, "invent me a darn bra strap."

I would have, but they don't have a picture of the brown one on their site (you can mouse over it and it changes the color of the dress on the page, but I can't save that one). I promise there will be a picture of me in it with Chuck on homecoming day. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Too funny! I'm surprised he even acknowledged what your problem was! I would think most young men would be very embarrassed about that kind of thing.

Somehow I missed your last update... Congrats on the running milestone! 4 miles is awesome no matter how long it took you! I love the dress too... You are going to look great for Chuck no matter what you wear. :goodvibes

Congrats on your training. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your training. I'm starting to train for the princess 1/2 marathon.

Exactly, that is why I stopped running, I was more embarassed that he said something to me.
Bumped you up from page 5.
I added swimming into my routine.
We have an awesome local village pool, and it finally warmed up.
No one likes to swim there because of the sand bottom.
Anyways, I have muscles that are hurting that I never knew existed.
I can get my 1/2 mile done in 45 minutes without any struggling.
Now I just have to start putting the 3 elements of swimming, biking and running together.

Thanks Marisa. I've been a bad PTR/TR follower and writer lately. Swimming is an awesome way to exercise. Our pool is TOO warm. A couple of weeks ago it was 90 degrees. :scared1: I really need to get back to cross training. I'm just feeling so lazy these days. At least I'm back to running again (I took about 2 1/2 weeks off). It's just been a long year with my husband gone and I think I've pretty much given up on doing much of anything except the stuff I absolutely have to until he gets home. :rolleyes1

Aww, :grouphug: Carissa and I hope time will go fast for you. Don't worry, we will be here for you when you return.

Congratulations on the 4 miles Carissa! NICE job! :thumbsup2

I LOVE the dress....the brown and pink sounds fabulous! Chuck won't be able to get you home fast enough! ;)

Thanks Marisa! He is home and all is good. :goodvibes

Time for a worm update! Are they okay? Has anyone checked on them?

Haven't checked yet. I'm sure they're dead with the 100+ temps we had for a while there.

Congratulations on the 4 miles Carissa! NICE job! :thumbsup2

Thanks Missy. I ended up deciding not to wear the dress (or any dress). It was such a hot day! I wanted to be comfy while we waited.

I just realized I probably won't get to see you on your trip. January 8th is a car show at Silver Springs and we are planning a belated anniversary trip to WDW the following weekend.

But, I think the hubby is looking at getting stationed close to you, might end up neighbors.:goodvibes

Where has the summer gone?! I apologize for being missing in action for most of it. But, I am finally here with a bit of an update and a few pictures to share. :thumbsup2

Two weeks ago, Chuck came home! :cool1: Being at homecoming for an aircraft carrier was a very emotional experience despite the heat and humidity we endured that morning waiting around. Before we left the house, we decorated the front porch:

When we got to the base, they had lots of goodies for us and some entertainment to help pass the time. Surprisingly, the time did go by pretty quickly. Watching the ship come into port with all of the sailors manning the rails was one of the most amazing sights I have ever witnessed.

Within about 45 minutes of the ship coming in, Chuck walked off. Neither of us had a signal on our cell phones so it was a miracle we found each other in that crowd!

Chuck had started a cold with a fever the day before and so he wasn't himself that first day back. Then he was nice enough to pass it on to me! :rolleyes1 I didn't think to get a picture of him and I together until later in the week. Here is a before deployment and after deployment picture of us together:

Training Update:

Between Chuck coming home, fighting a cold with bad swollen glands, and dealing with migraines, my training hasn't been great. However, I did finally get to run outside! I thought it went pretty well. I also went over to the gym in our development and got on the bike for 5.5 miles. I loved it! I'm hoping to do that 2 - 3 times a week for my cross-training.

Trip Update:

Liz was kind enough to make a couple of ADRs for our trip. We now have ADRs for Chefs de France and The Plaza. :thumbsup2 It's also time for me to start booking some plane tickets!

That would be so cool!! When are you guys due to move?

Welcome Home Chuck!! :banana::banana:

I'm so happy you are all together again! :goodvibes The before & after pictures with Chuck are amazing - your hair is long too!

I hope you guys all get to enjoy the rest of your summer together!

So what's next for Chuck?

Thanks Amy! Chuck looks so skinny now. As for what's next, he shouldn't have another long deployment until 2012. Of course, that could change, but fingers crossed it won't. He'll have a fairly normal schedule until then (normal for ship life, which is very different from what we're used to).

Congrats on the homecoming and tell Chuck he has our gratitude for his service!

Thanks GB! I will pass it on. :goodvibes

I'm so happy that Chuck is home! It must feel great to be back together as a family again.

:yay: for Chuck coming home! You guys both look great! I'm so happy you're back together again!
