My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

Congratulations, Carissa! You're doing great!

Hope you're feeling better from your stomach "bug." :)

I did it, Carissa!! I did the first day. Weather turned crappy again, but I knew it would. I just wanted to test out that first day, and see if I died. It almost happened, luckily my heart is still barely beating and I have most of my alveoli left in my lungs. Legs had to be extinguished with white foam- it was ugly. Finally made it back to the homebase mostly alive.

hope you had a great weekend catching up with family!

Congrats on the continued weight loss....

Thanks! Just got home today. We spent two nights in Williamsburg with the whole family. Had a wonderful time. :)

So proud of you getting back out there! Awesome! You are so right, anything is a great thing!

Hope you had a super fun time catching up with the family- that's important too. :thumbsup2

The family time was much needed. The boys and I all had a blast. But, I am looking forward to getting back to a normal routine so I can get back to running and finish the C25K program! :thumbsup2

You are doing a great job Carissa! Your determination is an inspiration! Keep it up!

I hope you had a fabulous time with family this past weekend. :goodvibes

Oh...Dan is headed your way April 9-13 for his band and chorus trip! They are staying in Virginia Beach, going to Busch Gardens, performing at Norfolk State University, touring the USS Wisconsin and the Nauticus museum, and visiting Colonial Williamsburg. It should be a great trip!

Cool! They're going to do lots of fun things!

Congrats on the 3 lbs! :woohoo: Good job!

Thanks! Although, I probably gained it back this past week. :rolleyes1

I have had a bug for a couple of days, too. I told Jill I might be able to lose some weight if I could stick to this 'half a cracker a day' diet!

Congratulations on the continued progress. :goodvibes

Thanks! Hope you're feeling better. :goodvibes

WTG Liesa!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Make sure you don't go too fast. Slowing down can make it a lot easier if you're struggling.

Doesn't that feel good!:rotfl2:

Welcome home!!!

I don't know how much I missed but I'll just jump back in from here!!! :yay:

So, here is a brief breakdown of how the past week went. My parents drove down from Maine on Thursday and spent the night with us. Then they drove to Williamsburg on Friday with Sully. They were invited by my aunt (my dad's sister) to stay at a condo with her and her family (my 4 cousins and their families). I drove over on Saturday and Monday and spent the day with everyone, but drove home at night. Tuesday one of my cousins went home so the boys and I took over their condo for two nights. And on Wednesday we went to Jamestown Settlement. Here are just a few pictures:

This last one was after the boys got to help hoist a sail - very cool. I think Owen is pretending to a pirate? :confused3

Yesterday my Unofficial Guide 2010 showed up. :cool1: Haven't had a chance to look through it yet, but I will.

It felt good to get back on the treadmill today and back on track. :thumbsup2 My eating was okay for some of the week, but the two days I spent there in Williamsburg overnight weren't great. Add that to not working out and let's just say I'm not getting on the scale anytime soon. :rolleyes1

I decided to start week 6 over again today to give myself a chance to get back in the groove again before trying for the 25 minute run. My legs were tired, but I was surprised that my lungs/breathing did okay. It was a battle with my mind at first. I kept telling myself that I wouldn't be able to do the 8 minute run since I hadn't worked out all week. But, I just distracted my brain and before I knew it, it was over. :cool1:

Anxious to finish the C25K program just to say I did it.

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."

~ Harriet Beecher Stowe

My totals for today:

Speed: 3.5 for warm up, 4.0 for jogs/3.3 for brisk walks, 3.0 cool down
Duration: 37 minutes
Distance: 2.27 miles

Jamestown looks wonderfully immersive and fun!! Hooray for a great time!

Don't beat yourself up too badly over the slip in eating! If it had been me that had taken a long break, I'd have gone back to Week 1!! :lmao:

Great job getting back on the treadmill! Looks like you had a nice time in Williamsburg. Those mini vacations are always refreshing:goodvibes
