My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

:crazy2: :crazy2: yes I'm crazy. I checked on line this morning and now Poly has rooms available during our stay. Now I'm thinking about staying at the Poly again instead of Beach Club. It would be $100 more to stay at Poly for the 6 nights vs. beach Club. I was looking forward to trying a new resort and Poly which I love was just missing something last time for me. thought the kids love Poly and the monorail and so does Tom. I love it too but our housekeeping was stinky last trip and that kind of annoyed me alot.

I did pros and cons to help me decide and I'm still not sure, LOL. We feel at home at Poly and like the restaurants and CS and watching wishes. beach club is supposed to be getting some refurbished rooms which is great and they have that campfire and movie on the beach which looks great too. I guess I'm 60/40 in favor of Beach Club. Kaylee votes for Poly even though one of her best freinds from NJ is staying at BCV and they would hav more time together.

Tom is in favor of Poly and I think because he just loves it there because of the monorail and the rooms. I like the idea of getting more time with my friend and her family because we are really only doing 3 things with them. I just saw them in NJ a couple of days and might not see them for over a year after Disney. Thomas could care less but loves Pop, and Poly and loved AKL & WL in the pics I showed him. He says he wants to stay at Coronado Springs if you ask him because for 3 months that is where we were staying. It's sad :sad2: I have to ask a 4 year old his opinion to help me make a choice.

Please vote for which one I should choose Poly or Beach Club.
Thanks a bunch!!

Try something new...Go for Beach Club! I think you'll love it and not regret it!

Funny you mention that....
When I couldn't get Contemporary I was going between WL and BC. We were leaning towards BC since we were planning to spend a lot of time in Epcot. But, the more I thought about it today I'd hate to waste my BC trip (not really waste, but you know) in December when I may not get to enjoy SAB. So, I'm off to look at WL now....:goodvibes

Your plans sound great! We stayed at ASMU once and liked it well enough.

So were you able to get WL or did you decide to stay with BC? I know what you mean about SAB in December. I think Samantha will still want to swim :rolleyes1 and she is thin like kaylee and will probably freeze. I love WL at Christmas time. You said you liked ASMu well enough. You liked Pop better though??? I just figured we would try music since it was been refurbed in 2007. It looks quieter but I like the theme of Pop better.

My vote is Beach Club. If you have never been to either, I would vote Poly (I would LOVE to stay there!), but since your friends that you don't get to see much are at Beach Club and you have already stayed at the Poly, I would try something new! :)

I agree with Beach Club!! The kids will love the pool area, and it'll be something new this trip!

Try something new. If you go to Poly (and spend all that money) and are displeased again, you will kick yourself!

I've only stayed at values and Poly (last January). We weren't so thrilled with Poly. I always wanted to stay there and maybe I had high expectations? We just got off the 7 night disney cruise, and were pampered, so maybe nothing would have compared to that cruise? I don't know. But I didn't think housekeeping did a good job...and the staff just wasn't "over the top".

I thought that I was the only one on these boards that was displeased with Poly. Because of all the Poly hype, I would be willing to try it again, but after a few years! It's just too expensive to have an "okay" stay. Our POP stays have been much better!

I do love that monorail (MK and Epcot are our favorite parks). It was very convenient, especially for a shorter stay, when you don't have alot of time.

This December we are trying Wilderness Lodge.
Enjoy your trip!!

Since you have already stayed at Poly, I would try BC.... OR just flip a coin and what ever it is it is!!! :)
Let us know...

I agree with you 100 %. I do love the Poly but the housekeeping was just not good last october. In 2006 it was perfect in every way. Don't even tell me that about the cruise :sad2: because we were supposed to be going the wonder for 4 nights. now I wish we were doing that instead. Maybe next year if I don't overspend this year. maybe I need to stay at a moderate so I can afford the Cruise next year  . I think you will love WL :cloud9: we stayed there twice and it was great!! It's not available for our dates unless we want bunkbeds and courtyard which we want queen beds. If it does show available then I will be switching most likley.

I agree with Beach Club!! The kids will love the pool area, and it'll be something new this trip!

Thanks Jennifer

Let us know...

:lmao: I did that when I was trying to decide to spend and stay at BC or save and stay at CSR. It was BC so we booked it. I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with BC just thought about POly when I saw it was available. Tom says just stick with BC. Though when I first said Poly was available he was 100 % all for Poly.

Go for the Beach Club this time Nichole! It looks fabulous! I love the appeal of the monorail with little ones, too...but BC seems like a good fit for this trip! Good luck! :goodvibes

Hi Nichole!

I say go for the Beach Club!! It will be something new for you! I am sure Thomas will come around and like SAB! When we were at AKL friends of ours from home were there at the same time and we only did a couple of things together. The kids swam together 1 night. We went to MK for 2 hours together one night. We made sure ahead of time not to plan too much because we both payed alot for our vacations. I am sure if you stick to what you already agreed to Tom will be happy and you will still save that $100! Good Luck with whatever you decide!:goodvibes

Thanks Diane.
What are your trip plans? I see your new ticker ;) .

Hey Nichole!

Right now our plans are to stay at SSR for 10 nights in June! We weren't planning on a Disney trip in 2009 but with our DVC purchase, we got a free set of points so that is what were going to do! I have never been in June. I am not worried about the heat because I have been in August before, but I am a little worried about the crowds:eek:

Well, I went back online the next day to book something and the BC price had almost doubled (only club level rooms or something) and same with WL! :sad2: Amazing what a day can do. Figures. So, I booked POP just to have something booked. I will keep checking though and hope to get in to WL - I think that would be nice for Christmas time.

As far as POP vs. ASMu - I was only at ASMu and liked it just fine. They were doing some renovations when we were there so it wasn't at its best. I just love the feel of POP for some reason. But, now that ASMu has been refurbished it may be even better.

As for your decision - don't you hate it when you keep looking? :rotfl: I know you love Poly but I think you should try BC too. You can be near your friends, try out SAB and it is something new. You've got to try each resort at least once, right? Let us know what you decide.

Are you going in Late June? It will be more crowded but just have a tour plan and list of must ses for your family. That is what we did during Spring Break in March. With 10 days you should be fine. If you start a pretrippie let me know.

The same thing keeps happening to me with the resorts. Poly doesn't even have our last night now  and that is since this morning. So we are just sticking with BC for all the reasons above.

Pop is fun it's like being in one of the parks. But Music is supposed to be quiet. I bet I will like POp better though  . DH and I definately want to relax a bit this trip. So that is why we needed a deluxe. We might even send the kids to kids club for a couple hours one night to go to Epcot by ourselves.
