No matter how much chapstick I put on my lips they are always chapped. Maybe if I didnt leave the house for a few days they would get better. My lips and the cold winter months dont do well together.

What should I do, I've tried so many different lip treatments/chapstick type things and nothing seems to work..

any suggestions??

I have really dry chapped lips, and I use the medicated Blistex during the day, and put Bag Balm on them at night. It works really well.

Really? I will have to try that. I never heard of Bag Balm? Where can I find it?

Chapstick is POISON for chapped lips, oddly enough, my kid's pediatrician turned me on to that, with her eternally chapped lips and skin around her lips. It does NOTHING to help chapped lips and actually makes them WORSE, as you discovered.

You need Vaseline or one of the petroleum jelly lip balms. That acts as a PROTECTANT, the chapped lip stuff just makes you want to lick your lips MORE, which of course dries them out.

Do the Vaseline thing. It works WONDERS. :)

My dad used to recommend cow manure for dry chapped lips.

Hey, you'd never lick 'em again, am I right? :earboy2:

OK, well suit yourself if you don't wanna follow some tried and true advice. :cool1:

i was going to say vaseline as well..a couple of weeks ago, my lips were so chapped and red..very painful..i didnt have any chapstick (which is crazy because i ALWAYS have chapstick) so i used vaseline...
i think it worked a lot quicker!

Count me in on the "No Chapstick Train"! It's very drying.

I use Jurlique Lip Balm or Blistex, which ever is handy.

I'm with the no chapstick group (except on rare occasions). I like Blistex or Vaseline.

Vitamin E OINTMENT, GNC purple and white tube $1.99, stuff lasts forever, trust me, WORKS GREAT!!! :goodvibes

Vaseline before you go to bed. Works with chapped, dry or cracked hands too.

I insist on Carmex. It's the only thing that really works for me.

Carmex works for me too!

Well for one drink LOTS of water. During the winter most people don't drink nearly enough water. Also I've been using Neosporing Lip Treatment. Works well so far, but it's kind of expensive. I think I may get a small thing of Vaseline though.

This might sound gross, but vaseline works on chapped noses too. Whenever my nose is red and sore from blowing it too much, I'll put some vaseline on before bed and I wake up fine.

I have also headr about honey. Use a wet toothbrush and softly rub your lips, pat dry and then rub the honey. I have only tried it once and it worked for me but i dont live were the weather gets cold but it could be worth a hot if nothing else works.

I have been using the CO Bigelow line from BBW. I got a bunch of it with free coupons last month and I love it!
