Just a vent...

I am so bummed. I had originally gone down to Florida in May for the official launch and trunk show for the Disney/Kirstie Kelley wedding gowns. I had to pay $100 to reserve a spot that turns out was non-refundable and had to go towards a purchase in the bridal store or you lose it. I ended up not really liking the dresses, but since I had to spend my money I ordered some jewelry from the Disney Jewels collection. I got a tiara (DC123) and earrings (DE118).

Since then I have bought a gown and had been waiting months for my jewelry to come in. Over time I forgot what it even looked like since they were not posted online until recently. Well the jewelry has come in and I was stoked. But now I have tried it on with my dress and it looks all wrong. The jewelry is very blingy and would look awesome with a white dress that was more simple lined. The dress I got is very ivory and detailed and delicate. They do not match at all!

So now I am stuck with having to go out and find new jewelry on top of maybe trying to sell my jewels on ebay or something. Supposedly they will be collectible since the molds will change every year, but for now it's just another hassle for me to worry about. I was excited to have some actual Disney apart of my wedding look and now it is just stuck in a box.

That $100 fee - what a scam! I mean, I'm sure it was a reputable bridal salon, but to basically force you to buy something from the line just so you could see it in person? The Bridal Bargains authors need to hear about that one...

I think you'll probably have no trouble selling the jewelry on eBay, since it's still kind of hard to get, but could you post a picture here? There may be other brides who'd love to have it! I'm curious to see it, since my dress is really simple....

:thumbsup2

Me too, me too. I want to see a pic. My dress is very simple (but Ivory, so it may not work). But, I would still love to see a pic.

Very, very pretty. I can see how it doesn't go with ivory though. would match up great with the simplicity of my dress though. I hope you're able to make your money back on it! Good Luck!!

I am so sorry you can't use your jewelry! Especially after the $100 hassle and everything (what a dirty trick, btw). I would say try selling it on ebay. I know that NONE of the stores near me sell it and that there are a lot of girls interested in these pieces. I bet you might even get more than you originally paid for it. Good luck!

PrincessJewel, would it be possible to wear the earrings & tiara to your rehearsal? To your rehearsal dinner? To your bachelorette party? To your welcome party? Or to any of your FTW events? Just a thought in case you decide to hang onto them.

I know that when I was a little girl, my mother bought me a tiara and I wore it all over the neighborhood, even while playing hopscotch and jumping rope. The tiara would have meant more had it come from a wedding rehearsal or a wedding ceremony, but since the crown that my mother had worn to her wedding (see below) had been shipped back to Sweden (it was a family heirloom that was passed from family to family at the time), she didn't have anything to give to me.

You now have in your possession a special Disney tiara that you could give to your child one day. Since plenty of little girls dream of being a Disney princess, that Disney tiara would take your daughter one step closer to that royal of position. ;) Just something to think about.
