My kids have forbidden me to speak of our Disney Trip..updated 5/17

I tried to order the 2009 DVD but I was sent the 2008 one instead. :confused3 It should be different because the 'YOMD' is over and 'What will you Celebrate' starts. I guess I'll order again. ;)

I was hoping they sent me the right one since I ordered in November. I did get the "What will you celebrate" DVD. :yay: I hope you get the right one!

Ok I am getting worried now. I keep hearing about the rumor that Pop is closing. Omg are they trying to make me go to Universal instead? :confused3

IF they close Pop, Disney will arrange other accomadations very likely an upgrade !! It is just rumor, so don't sweat it !! I'm booked at Pop too !!

I don't care where I stay if I get an upgrade :lmao: But my daughter picked Pop for the Hippy Dippy pool. It won't matter cuz I will be in Disney :)

I havn't heard that rumor...I hope it's not true but an upgrade would be nice. Why are they going to close it down?

The RUMOR is because of the economy and low occupancy ! Rather than cut back on staff and keep all the resorts open they would close a couple and shift staff! It's good business sense and they would take care of those who had rooms booked !!But let me stress it is a RUMOR !When you hear from Disney that you are being switched is when it becomes fact !! Pop has been suggested as the value to close again a RUMOR !! and a mod too!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I checked out your Orlando hotel, what a bargain! (I could get a rate of $55/night in August) It looks very clean & nice. I thought of booking a few nights before WDW to do some shopping. :thumbsup2

It is a great hotel. My son actullay wants to stay there the whole trip :rotfl: . It was very clean last year and the best part was free wifi :) I don't know how I will survive at Pop without my internet :lmao:

Ok I am seriously thinking about getting rid of the dining plan. The more I think about it the more I don't think its for us. We would have to eat everywhere for dinner to get our money's worth and we don't always eat dessert. I told my kids to pick one place they did not want to give up for this trip and here is what they picked (big shocker by the way)

DS: Crystal Palace (his nick name when he was a baby was pooh bear :rotfl2: so he wants to meet him lol)

DD: Chef Mickey's (she does not like Mary Poppins for some reason :confused3 so now how will I get to the Grand Floridian :rotfl: )

ME: Le Cellier (I want my soup :goodvibes )

I have until February to decide if I am going to keep it but it is highly doubtful. I have got to stop changing these places but at least I haven't made ADR's yet :lmao:

Hadn't heard the rumour about POP but it makes sense. I'm booked there for my trip in April.

Have you actually done the math to figure out what you might/might not save on the dinning plan? Until you do that you won't know.

I figure on taking meal plan each trip because it allows me the freedom to relax about our meals. I have paid to eat out each day and I have paid to have a snack. It's the one time my hubby encourages us to get ice cream snacks at at Park.

Great planning!

I hope if they do close Pop we get upgraded, not shunted into the All Stars!!

Great PTR! I hope they don't close down pop...:sad1: I really wanted to see it! It looks so neat from all the pic's I've seen!! I can't wait to read more!popcorn::

:wave2: welcome. I have done the math 4 times. I planned the price with and without. It is just so expensive. I am ready to do this :badpc:

 Welcome! I read your dining report and decided I wanted to eat at The Cheesecake Factory and Earl of Sandwich. If they try to send me to the all stars I may have to cancel. The whole reason I am staying onsite is Pop. I hope it stays open or I get a awsome upgrade.

:wave2: Welcome. I do too. We want to use the hippy dippy pool.

Ok. I did the math again. I left in Crystal Palace for DS, Chef Mickey's for DD, and Le Chellier for me. Eating breakfast in the room will save $20 a day except the days we went to CM and CP. I still get to go wherever we want, have drinks with every meal, and snacks. I will spend $575 OOP as opposed to $839 with the dining plan. I still have time to think about it but I am pretty sure I will be cancelling the DDP. As I leave you for now here is a picture of the beachfront hotel we will be at in Jacksonville

Well then I would cancel the plan.

When I did the math for my own family the DDP saved me $150 (roughly). If it had of been the other way around like it is for you then I wouldn't have done it.

I just need to do it. I am paying trip off in Feb so I will do it then. I just love to put things off :lmao:
