My kids have forbidden me to speak of our Disney Trip..updated 5/17

I agree, you are in charge of creating the best trip for your family.

It doesn't have to be like everyone else's. ;)

That's what makes WDW a perfect place, you can do and spend what you want. :goodvibes

Diamondintheruff I noticed you have only 10 days til you are at WDW!!! That's very excitting!!! :woohoo:

Dinning out is one of the experiences to enjoy at Disney but not the only one. Lot's of people have done disney without eating in any sit down restaurants. So you decide to do what feels right for your family and your budget. You can always put the restaurants you cancelled ADR's at on a list to visit on your next trip to Disney so you have something to look forward to.

My Disney "corner" has turned into a box and a full laundry basket full of things. I so have to go through it and sort out what I no longer need.

I am going to redo everything. I think the only thing I am keeping is Le Cellier for me, Sci-fi for my daughter, and ESPN club for my son, and Rainforest since my daughter is still considered a kid there. I figure I don't need to break the bank just to show my kids a good time.

I guess the thrill of making the ADR's got to me. I think I really only cared about 3 of them. I am about to go crazy waiting for this trip to get here. But I only have 37 days. I am sorry you did not get to get your pecan log. I hate working there with all the goodies around when i am trying to be good.

Sounds like you feel good about your decision and that is what counts.

Good for you. Enjoy. I'm going to le cellier myself too.

Thanks it is exciting! I broke down and started a pre-trip last night. Mine will be over before akayek31 leaves.

Wow another lay off hits home with me. First it was my uncle, then my Brother in law, and now as of today my ex-boyfriend/best friend(now) is laid off from his bank job. It is getting scarry out there. He use to work at Cracker Barrel with me and while I went down to one day a week (and now 3 due to WDW) he decided to quit. So now he has to go through the unemployment and looking for a job. I didn't think it would effect him since he worked with computers and they are everywhere.

I got my Disney mail today!!! I got my vouchers and tags. I was so excited to open it. In 56 minutes it will be 30 days

Are you sure you'll have time to do anything other than eat? (LOL)

I was thinking the same thing lol. I have spent so much time on the food aspect that i have no clue what we will do each day (besides the 2 i planned so far). You get to go in 3 days I bet you are excited :)

Excited, stressed and sad all at the same time.

Excited to go.

Stressed to get ready in time (getting off the disboards would probably be a good start).

Sad that after this trip is over I don't have anything else to look forward to.

Get working on those touring plans. I bet your kids have a great deal to say about what you're doing each day.

OK the day has finally come that I have been dreading for the last 16 years and 4 months. My son got his driver's license today. He made me get up early on my day to sleep late (11 am lol) and take him. BUT on the plus side i can send him to the dump and store if i dont feel like going. I didnt have time for breakfast so by the time we were done and going to lunch i was starving. I fell off the diet wagon bad. I have been doing great for 5 weeks and i took him to krystals where i proceded to leap off the wagon and eat a corn pup, chili cheese pup, a chick, and a krystal with cheese and fries. Oh but my logic was that it would all be better for me since i drank water with it :rotfl: But i guess i am only human and it happens so i wont beat myself up over it and quit. I have 31 pts a day and 35 weekly points. well i used 53 pts on that meal alone. On a brighter side of things I have 26 days til Disney

So I haven't updated in a while. I am going to listen to my mother and spend the night in Valdosta instead of driving all night. The reasoning behind this is 1. My son can't drive after midnight and I don't want to drive all the way by myself.
2. I want to stop at the Florida welcome center so I can take a picture of the sign (i know stupid lol)
3. I am a little anxious about driving at night anyway.

So I picked the La Quinta Inn in Valdosta. They offer free breakfast and all the reviews are great and we get a free $5 starbucks card. I think I made the right decision.

On the food note at WDW I have caved in to my son and once again booked a breakfast at Crystal Palace. We will go on May 23 before the price goes up the next day. I have 19 days until we leave

Hi! Are you getting ready for your 2 week vacay? Started packing?

Have you made any changes to the plans?

How's the WW coming along? I need to do something myself but I keep putting it off...

Have a great day!

:ccat: YOU HAVE 12 DAYS TO GO!!! :ccat:

I have totally bombed on WW. I was doing so well and then the day my son got his license i went to Krystal. I keep saying I am going back to it but all i was doing was worrying about eating ALL the time. I had to get 31 pts a day and sometimes I had to eat 5 times a day to do so. I think I will revisit it after the vacation. I will need it after 17 days of awesome food :lmao:

We have changed the start time of leaving. My son finally signed up for the college tours and 2 of them didn't have them while we were there. But unfortunately University of Florida was not one of them. I am stuck setting foot on the campus on June 5. So we are going to leave about 2 pm so my son can tour on his own according to the admissions office the Valdosta State University. I did find out after looking at the hotels reviews on various hotel websites that La Quninta Inn will also offer free cocktails and food. That is cool.

I was just trying to sit here and make plans for the trip and it is not working. I got up and cleaned the house :scared1: just to put the planning off more. I have all my ADR's and I changed the time on the 50's Prime time today so we would not miss the parade. I had to do that on Rainforest also last week. My kids believe that I will change them a few more times before we go.

I am trying to figure out what to go to concerning the Crystal Palace. I have a breakfast and a lunch ADR while I decide. My dilemma is do I want to spend $57 on breakfast or would I rather spend $63 for lunch. I have heard that breakfast is better but it is only $6 more to eat lunch. DD was won over by the word "mac and cheese" DS doesn't care as long as Pooh Bear is there :rotfl2:

So since I will leave my home to pick kids up from school at 1 and get my paycheck after that I am now technically down to 11 days as of now :dance3::woohoo::yay:

Your son will enjoy visiting Valdosta State. I have a nephew who graduated from VS and a niece that works their as a lab tech while she works on her masters. The older part of the campus is old south and it still has a small campus feel.

The good news about visiting the University of Flordia is there is a mall close to the exit on 75 where you turn off.

You will love Margaritaville last Jan. the food was great(loved the coconut shrimp) and the music was fun. You need to freshen up on your Jimmy Buffett tunes. There is also the cheeseburger in paradise, which my nephew said was to die for.

If you can get an adr at Crystal Palace before park opening I would go breakfast, it is fun to have main street to yourself. If not I would try for a lunch time it makes for a good and cool break in the day.

We love both Cheeseburger in Paradise and Margaritaville. They have lively atmospheres, reasonable prices, fair sized meal portions and best of all my kids love going there.

I've done CP for dinner and for breakfast. Never for lunch. However, I'm assuming that the lunch fair is similiar to dinner. The mac and cheese was not something to write home about. However, the potatoe casserole at breakfast certainly was. Yum Yum Yummy!

Micandminforever is right. If you can get an early ADR for CP go for it. You won't be disapointed. You can get mac and cheese counter service somewhere but you can't get into MK early without breakfast ressies at the castle or CP. Just my opinion though. I don't have to travel with your kids and if they are insisting upon a mac and cheese lunch at CP and will be miserable if they don't get it then just do lunch.

I did have a 8:15 ADR for the 24th at CP and then found out that they begin holiday/summer prices that day so I cancelled. I have called everyday to check on it but the 9:25 that i have on the 23rd is the earliest they have so far.

DS just cares about Pooh Bear and could care less if it is at breakfast or lunch so he wont argue about the time. DD just likes mac and cheese period so she can get it any where. I bet the ADR people are really getting tired of me calling and changing :rotfl2: I have time to think about it :)
