So let me introduce myself...My name is Angie or Angela whichever you prefer. I am a single mother to a very hyper 16 year old son (or at least he will be 16 next month :lmao: ) and a somewhat moody 12 year old daughter. I will post pics when I figure how to :rotfl: anyway we are going to Disney for my birthday from May 22-29. We will be staying at Pop Century. My first time staying onsite.

As for dining I know I want to go to the following places:

Planet Hollywood
Sci fi theater
Pecos Bill Cafe

I need 18 more dining ideas before we go :scared1:

I am hoping for a pirate: & princess: party on one of these days.

So far I have just booked the vacation and will be paying the deposit on Saturday. I have 6 guide books that my son said was way to many. I am so ready to go!! And I am going with only my kids....no pushy family members this trip :lmao: .

So since it is my birthday i either get 75 bucks to spend (which i can do in johnny depp land) or a fast pass for the day...any ideas which one i should do :confused3.

So next I will figure out what we will do day by day....stay tuned!!

Yeah!!! You made one!! Okay, about the pictures! Do you have a photobucket account? If not, you need to make one. Then you upload your pics and then post the code in a message!

Hi, came over from hlrababy, hope you don't mind.

Yeah, for a bday trip!!!:yay:

You are so more ahead than I am, I still havn't posted pics yet or booked my trip. I am still holding out for a free dining pin for May, I know they are out there. :wizard: If not, we will be going in August. I am a single Mom of 2 aswell. My DS is 14 and my DD is 8. I can certainly understand the moodiness of a teenager. My DS hasn't decided if he wants to go, its hard tagging along with three girls. My DMom comes along too. ;) He isn't much of a shopper unless its at the Nike outlet. :lmao:

You will find everyone is more than willing to help with any questions you have here on the DIS. Have fun planning....it's soo much fun. :surfweb:

welcome. i think this planning is going to be overwhelming at times

Do I see that correct, you booked another trip for DD's bday? Wow, you are going to have a great year, I'm envious of you. ;)

Don' t feel too overwhelmed, its fun if you take your time. You have us, if you need anything. We live for planning, discussing, shopping, anything Disney. :rotfl2:

The most important tip for now is making your ADR's early, so you get the restaurants you want. :)

yep going for her bday which is labor day weekend. i still need to figure out where else to eat before the adr's start. :surfweb:

Ok so since I have been talking about going to WDW again my kids have been all gung ho to go. Well now DS is saying he is getting a job when he turns 16 next month and may not be able to get off for vaca (how he is going to get there to work said job is funny since i work 7 days a week at 2 different jobs just to take them to WDW). So then comes my last vacation companion which was my cousin and her 6 yr old daughter. Cousin is one reason we are going back in May. We did not have a good time. Lets just simplify it by saying I will never go on another vacation with her.

On the positive side I paid my down payment yesterday! I am $200 closer to the Pop Century. I am still not sure about getting the dining plan. I tend to spend money on souviners than food. My second job is working at Cracker Barrel where i have been for 7 yrs. I get 35% off all food. But I do want to go to some of the places I have read about on this board. I still need to research more before I decide.

I am leanin toward getting the all day fast pass for my birthday. I would love to spend the gift card but I hate standing in line all day. I am still :confused3. I will be back with more soon. :hippie:

Oh I can relate to your troubles. My 14yr old DS got a job and it's constant trips back and forth, since we live out of the city and no busses run out here. I do love that he doesn't ask for money all the time and he does have a lot of new clothes to show for it. ;)
My son flip flops between going and not going. His best friend might come, which I would love. I told them they have until spring to decide.
Cracker Barrel is my DS's favorite, we always stop on the way down. My DD loves the shop. :lmao: How great that you get a discount there, you could save some good $ eating there in Orlando. I'm sure they have them, they are everywhere...:rotfl:
We ate at several restaurants last year (free DDP) and really enjoyed all of them. I am trying to make my list now for possable ADR's and it's hard to decide. For sure we will go to Chef Mickey's and Ohana's. Two family favorites. Good luck, there's so many good choices. :)

Coming over from Alan's thread!! Did you guys know about the 7 for 4 deal !! Unless you are a very large party I think it saves more than free dining !! I saved $271 and I am going solo!!It's hard to recommend restaurants without knowing your kids likes etc. I have 13 year old granddaughters and a 6 year old grandson. They all have asked to go back to SciFi and PlanetHollywood !!If thekids like Aquariums the Coral Reef at Epcot might be good !!Also Chef Mickeys ! I f you are not on DDP the new Dinasaur restaurant in DTD sounds fun!! Have you tried Cosmic Rays at MK they have a large menu and its air conditioned !! Let me know if I can help anymore!!

:welcome: yep we used the 7/4 deal. it turned out to be $1289 i am still debating on the DDP....i am cheap :rotfl2:

So I have now bought a binder with dividers to help with my planning. My plan is to fill it up in the next few months. So now DS is flipping back to going again. He wants to tour a bunch of epensive colleges. I will have to set foot on the school i despise University of Florida (Gators). This is both my kids fave college team. My kids were born in Jacksonville, Fla and DS has been a gator fan since birth practically and DD found out the DS's bff who lives in fl is a gator fan and now she is a fan too :lmao: I am a Florida State Seminole fan so you can see my pain :rotfl2:

So I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! :hippie:

You could go with the new plan which is TS only for $28. and some change. Don't forget to go to DW online and regester your b-day then on your day you get in free. Good deal. Same thing for your DD.

i asked about the counter service one but they said it would be 40 per person. maybe they thought i meant the deluxe plan :confused3

I'm joining in! We are going May 23 - 30. :goodvibes I am really really hoping for a Pirate & Princess Party too.
