My husband had a heart attack today

How can one be that healthy 3 weeks later.
He had a clogged "pipe". The artery was "snaked" and the stent should keep it open. Problem solved, for now.

Tell the doctor if the meds are expensive or are giving him side effects. The newest drugs might be slightly better but $$$. Generic statins, blood thinners and blood pressure meds are dirt cheap.

You can ask the pharmacist for drugs to discuss with your dr.

Just seeing this now, mommasita. Hurriedly read to the last page. Love sent to you all. Hope he is feeling well. 🌺

Hi @lisaviolet 🥰 thank you.
And to each and every one of you 🥰

He has not been feeling 100%. He has started the 12 week cardio rehab program that he SHOULD have started two weeks following the actual heart attack, but somehow, someway, his paperwork got lost in the shuffle. 🤬🤬
We are awaiting his latest blood work, time will tell.

Wow, I come to this board periodically, and this post sure caught my attention. I had a heart attack about 5 years ago when I was 53. A complete surprise as I had a generally healthy diet and exercised. Bottom line is that I was out of town in a major city and was incredibly lucky to have had a major intervention that saved my life. The docs cleared out all the plaque, giving me a fresh start, plus a stent. They said I had some bad genes. If I had been in a remote area, I would have been done.

All of this changed my perspective on life. Here is where I offer some hope. Within a month I carried out a trip to WDW, including going on Rise of the Resistance repeatedly when it first opened, with my doctor’s approval. I’m stilling going strong at almost 60 years old, although the beta blockers slow me down a bit. I value every day.

Big picture: I’m grateful to still be around and wish you and your husband similarly good fortune.

Well love sent to you both mommasita. Hope it improves for him soon. 🌺 And hope he is not too stubborn. 😉

Hello, thank you for asking. 🥰 He had his f/u appt at the cardio rehab. The cardiologist told him that his ekg was perfect. His bloods all normal. He dropped 12 lbs. He told me, as I could not take any more time off, that the Dr. Actually told him that he was extremely healthy. I am just confused. How can one be that healthy 3 weeks later. Maybe it is me, Mrs doubtful, 🤨. They only want to see him in a year, unless he feels that he needs to see the Dr, then he can call for an appt at any time.
This can be said when looking at the big picture, ie overall health. Not diabetic? Relatively young? Not a lot of medical problems? Active lifestyle? Eat well? Doesn’t smoke or drink? Good support systems? Loving relationship? Holding a job? Etc. That’s how someone can say someone is healthy, when looking at the whole picture, even when someone’s had a heart attack, or cancer, or something else.

Hope things are going well today for you and your husband. :flower3:
