My Hubby's Dream Comes True! May 2011 (Warning ~ will be Picture Heavy!)

Just when I thought I had it figured out!! I got a text from hubby a few minutes ago that he will be able to join us either Saturday or Sunday (my choice) and that he just needs to work a bit remotely on Monday morning! :woohoo::woohoo:

Now! When do I want him to join us?? I'm thinking he can fly in on a flight that will get there about 4:30 PM which puts him at the resort about 6:00.

Sorry for the delay..didn't get on the internet yesterday.

I would vote to have DH arrive on Saturday. Would the Sat flight be cheaper? I'm thinking Sunday may be higher. Whatever makes everyone happy. :thumbsup2

Saturday flights are cheaper. He will book tonight. He was thinking Sunday but you are right flights cost more!

Two weeks!!!

Okay HERE is the almost complete details!

04/28 10:45 PM arrival at POP for me girls and mom
04/30 4:00 PM arrival at POP for DH
05/01 Me and DH check in to BLT!!!
05/02 Girls join us
05/07 Check out of BLT and head to my brothers for the first communion on Sunday Morning
05/08 Check back in to a hotel at Disney (still undecided)
05/09 DH, Girls and I fly home on a 5:30PM flight

The only thing still to tie up is pay for dining, get a rental car for one day (what a waste) and then decide what hotel for Sunday night.

DH would like to try something we haven't done yet. I'm having our TA quote on some moderates and the Poly to see what we can get with AP discount.

Good news??? We have enough points in holding for a July 4th trip!!

Woot! Woot!! We got our Mickey mail for the three nights at Pop today! Yeah!!!

I LOVE the new luggage tags! So cute AND different then the dozens we have!

We tied up the last night of our stay and it will be at Caribbean Beach preferred view. Cool... we've never stayed there.

So now I am still deciding about dining.

Deluxe, Quick Service or nothing? What to do what to do??? Not sure that we could get any good ADR's at this point. We won't have a car.... any advice on the TS at Carribean Beach??

/
not too fond of Shutter's at CBR. sorry.

Don't be sorry!! This is what I need to know!! :rotfl:

We'll likely go quick service but ya never know... DH really like to have a sit down meal and give the kids a chance to unwind and refocus. :)

Though we will have that time at church on Sunday and then likely lunch out with my brother's family.... so we may not need it.

So I don't think I've talked a lot about our touring style. To be completely honest we travel to Disney a LOT so I think our style definitely may not work for people who go only once a year.

We don't wait in lines that our kids are not willing to wait in. They are fortunate enough to understand that they will see it later in the trip OR next trip. No big who-dee who if they don't see it this trip.

So say we are walking by Peter Pan (a love of my Mimi's) she'll say "Let's ride Peter Pan!" I'll say ~ there is a 90 minute wait. Do you wanna wait? She'll say "Can we get a FP?" I'll say either yes or no depending on the situation. She'll decide NOT to wait.

We usually don't use strollers anymore... so they are on foot. Which means that the three year old (soon to be four) wanders a LOT! She loves to go into every store and look at every doll and give them each a hug and put them back. I let her. I don't care ~ we are not in a hurry and in 15 years when they don't want to be seen with us... then we can do what we want.

We stop and smell ALL the flowers. Literally!

We let the girls color where ever they find crayons for as LONG as they want!

We let them run and play when they want to play:

The long and short of our touring style is the kids take the lead. We still see and do all we want except without the run.

We don't do rope drops ~ unless everyone just happens to be up and ready to go (this is rare)
We don't set alarms.
We don't have a FP runner.
We rarely use rider swap as we prefer to be together as a family.
We don't fret about missing something.
We TRY not to argue while we are there. Sometimes it is hard NOT to argue with Z. LOL!
We love table service meals as it is a break and what we would do at home... sit together to eat.
We do grab a FP if it is convenient. We don't run for them or separate so someone can get them.
We DO take afternoon swim/nap breaks.
We DO take advantage of evening EMH.

Hubby seems to think his last name is Rockefeller the second he steps foot on Disney property so HE does spoil the girls while there. I do not.

We laugh, we play, we relax, we have fun, we enjoy uninterrupted family time. :)

A little about how we tour!

I just love how you tour! During our first trip. we let Katie decide. Second trip it was a mix of Katie & DSIL. This trip, we have decided that WE pick! of course we will let Katie guide as well but her last trip she was rather mmmmm bratty and didn't want to wait in any line, even when I or DH did want to wait. We will not be repeating the moods and tempers of THAT trip!:scared1:;)

Great trip plans! Pop and BLT are a great combination.

We did the single digit dance this morning and sang the single digits song!! My four year old is SO excited for this trip it is pretty much ALL she can talk about!!

Welcome to my new readers! I should mention that I tend to update live from the world while we wait in line or while I wait for the others to finish playing. So you'll see a lot of posts from me next week!

I still haven't started packing and don't know what I need for the girls. I did buy myself some new sneakers and am wearing them between now and then to get used to them. I typically wear only crocs... but my favorite pair of mickey crocs broke. So these will have to do this trip. I do have my pink mickey crocs as backup and for heading to the pool (which we do a LOT!).

This week is school vacation and I am off work on Thursday so I will probably get to some organizing and packing then.

Can't wait to get myself a Kaki Gori! YUM!

Okay ~ we leave tomorrow night!! Woot! Woot!! My first update will likely be sometime on Friday! :)

This is it!! Our NO MORE SLEEPS day!! Tonight we sleep at Disney and tomorrow we start our Magical 11 day vacation!

ZZ has been up since 5AM wanting to wake me and tell me it was Disney day... thankfully DH kept her at bay! Mimi is still out like a light. She really is the most rational level headed one out of all of us... sad since she is only 5. LOL!

Well w are finally here! Long, long night with lots of delays. We arrived POP at about 7:00am when we were due in about 11:00 last night. Ugh!

Okay - we finally got out about 2:30! Ugh! We didn get to the hotel until 7:00! We had breakfast (pop waffles!). Then headed to the room. I got the girls ready and took them swimming and let mom get showered and in fresh clothes.

We swam for a while then I got a shower and convinced everyone to nap. We slept until about 12:30!

We got dressed and headed to WGP for lunch! Love it there! We shared a margarita pizza and chicken tenders with French fries. We split those two meals between the four of us and still threw away a slice of pizza! The girls each had a sugar cookie. We looked around the stores and listened to some singers an then decided to hit MK!

When we got to MK we were parked in Donald! Far! We got a tram right away and also hit a waiting monorail. When we got to MK there was only a 10 minute wait for Princesses and a 5 minute wait for Mickey. The girls choose Princesses so we waited to see them. I uploaded pictures on FB - if you haven't friended me yet please do! Instant pictures and real time updates on rides!

We headed to gets dole whip bit I swear everyone in the park was waiting to get one! So we headed to a cart for Popsicles. They were nice and cold and yummy! We sat on the bridge to tomorrowland and ate them. Mimi wanted to ride TTA so we headed that way. FP for buzz was shorter than waiting in line so we grabbed some and jumped on the TTA.

When we got off we rode CoP - my favorite since I was a kid! Z loved it and sang along. When we got off it was time for Buzz - we teamed up - me and Z and mom and Mimi and me and Z won! Yeah!

Mimi wanted to ride TTA again so we did. By this time we were exhausted and headed back to POP. When we got back we put on swimsuits and headed to the cafeteria for dinner. We shared shrimp lo mein and a chicken ceaser salad. The girls ha this huge cupcake I've never seen before with chocolate in the middle tons of frosting and two Oreos making it look like Mickey!

We swam, well they swam - too cold for me! Then we headed back to the room for bed! Asleep by 9 an slept until 7:30!
