I just didn't want to go this time. It's a big one too, 25 years.

I've been to Reunions 5, 10, 15 and 20 years. Each has been very different in some ways and the same in others. They have had different locations and "themes" if you want to call it that. They've been the same in that people seem to fall back into their old HS selves. It's not always pretty. Our 20th and this one was lumped together with the following class too, for some reason.

Looking back I was never really close to a lot of people in HS. Of those I was close to we still keep in contact on our own, though not as often as in years back. If I happen to see another former classmate I'll be cordial but I won't go out of my way.

So, this afternoon I made my decision not to attend tonight's event. My semi-formal dress remains in it's bag until another event comes along.

What about you? Do you attend HS Reunions or have you also stopped going?

I went to my 20th, but hadn't gone to the 10th. I enjoyed my 20th, but every five years seems a bit much IMO. It seems like you'd get mostly locals who could see each other anyway if they cared that much.

I never go, I am a social retard

No, haven't been to any. I missed my 10 year due to a miscarriage. Didn't attend my 20th because it was semi-formal and we didn't have the money to pay for both tickets and clothing. But I purchased the information booklet for each to see what everyone has been up to.

My 30th is in just a couple of years. I doubt I will attend that one either. But I will buy the booklet. I'm like you, what friends I have kept in touch with from high school I don't need to pay money to see.

You make me laugh Pop Daddy!

Hey, you might fit right in with some of my classmates especially after they've pounded back a few in a failed attempt to be less socially retahhhhhhhhhddddddddded. :p

My high school did not bother contact me for my 10 year reuion.

When the 10 year one rolled around, there was a list of graduates that couldn't be found. My best friend from HS was on the list(I was in her wedding 2 years after HS-then 3 years later she had moved and divorced and we lost touch-wish i knew what her name currently is)

...so I never went to any of them

That brings upthe subject of trying to find former classmates that are female. With marriage and divorce it's often impossible to "find" old classmates that are women-due to name changes.

I went to my 10th and had the BEST time. I wasn't popular in HS, but you wouldn't have known it from the reunion. The only bad thing was seeing my ex, but I avoided him and survived it. Now I still talk to a few HS people just about every day on a message board that has been running since sometime in 2000 I think (reunion was 2001).

I keep thinking I'll get them to come down to WDW for our 15th. I was scoping out the dance club at the Boardwalk. Wouldn't that be a good location? Our 10th was NOT planned well; it was just thrown together.

My 25th is this year too. I have the same sentiments about my high school class as the OP. And, I am fairly certain that I don't want to go either. There are many other things I would rather spend the money on.

I just missed my 20 year reunion. I had promised my 2 oldest I would take them to a concert--Buzzfest. It had a couple of their favorite bands. Anyway then I find out my reunion is that same night. Oh well, it would have been nice to have seen a few people I hadnt seen in a while but there were still many I really didnt care if I saw or not.

I went to my 5th reunion and had such a bad time that I haven't been back. Last year was my 30th high school reunion. Oh well. Maybe I'll go to my 50th.

I did attend my 20th college reunion, but only because I graduated with a guy who went on to be an astronaut and I wanted to meet him. Only he didn't show up. In fact, only 4 of us showed up. That reunion was OK, but I skipped my 25th and don't plan on attending any more of them either.

I have a lot more fun at DISmeets.

I went to my 5-year reunion, but have not gone to any others (our 25th was 4 years ago). They always have them during the time in August when we are up north, so that's my easy excuse not to go. :) I only keep in touch with a couple of people I graduated with, and the others I could care less about so I seriously doubt I would go even if we weren't on vacation when they had them.

We went to a couple of DH's and had a good time at both, he is from a smaller graduating class and everyone was friendly to everyone else so it was nice.

We went to our 10th. My husband and I started dating in HS and married after college.
anyway...my old boyfriend sat on one side of me and my husband on the other. the boyfriend kept whispering stuff to me....that was it, no more. our 25th came and went without an invitation..dont even know if they did anything.

I don't think my graduating class has ever had any reunions. It's been over 20 years since I graduated and have never received any notices, and neither have any of the people I have spoken to since graduation.

I moved to Florida since graduating in New Jersey and I really don't keep in touch with anyone. Life goes on, you get busy, yada yada yada.

Wow! I love my high school reunions! I'm very blessed to have graduated with a close-knit class of about 150. We've had reunions every 5 years, and they're always well-attended. The fewest we had was at the 15th (I think many people were busy with babies and toddlers at that time), and that was about 100 people.

I know there are some in my class who prefer not to attend for various reasons. It's a shame. The people in my class are very friendly and inclusive. There were cliques in high school, but everyone gets along now.

I'll be helping to plan my 25th in a couple years :earseek: . We did a weekend in Cape May, NJ for the 20th, but we haven't decided what to do for the 25th yet. I"m definitely looking forward to it. We have people who come in from a far as Alaska, California, and Europe just for the reunion. We're very fortunate, and unusual, I guess.

I never attended any reunions. I mostly enjoyed my h.s. years, but it just wasn't all that important to me. I also suffer from SR like Pop Daddy.:o

Ive been to my 5th and 10th and had a good time at both. For the most part I hang out with the 4 that Im still friends with but it is nice to see some old faces. At our last one I talked to one girl more than I talked to her in 4 years of high school, LOL!
We should have a 15th coming up this year, but I have heard our class president now has a 2 yo and twin babies so she may be too busy to plan a party. ;)
