Annual Passports....

I have read through some of the posts in the Very Useful Information Thread and I am just getting more confused.

Thinking of buying annual passports when we go in December, as I hope to go a couple of times next year (yes, addicted.... which says alot for someone terrified of the rides, but still goes on them).

Please bear with me on this.....

Was looking at the Dream Passport, can I buy the dream passport for myself, then sponsor a dream passport for my daughter at the same time, getting the 10% discount on her one, then get the extra months added to my passport? (By the way how many months are added?)

Then when my daughters passport is up in 12 months, buy one for her, she could then sponsor me when mine is up & get the extra months added to hers and so on and so on????

Am I understanding that correctly??

Would I be better just getting one Dream Passport and then depending on how long we go for, just buy a hopper ticket for my daughter at that time?

Any discounts for hotel accommodation, I presume would apply to the booking, or does everyone travelling have to have a annual passport? (For example, 4 people travelling, only one with a annual passport, 20% discount applied to the booking or just on the amount for the annual passport holder)? God does that make sense?

Is there any site that I can check acommodation only prices for the DLHs?

Thanks for your patience!!!

Ah I remember that exploding head feeling well :lmao: !

Okay, you can't sponsor your daughters AP with your new one, as you need to have had yours for one month before you can start sponsoring anyone. The under-7 free childs AP offer has now been extended to March 09, so if your daughter is 6 or under when you go in December, you can get hers free when you buy yours. If she's already 7 or over, you can both be sponsored by an existing AP holder, to get 10% off the price of both your and your daughters APs.

Once you have had your AP for one month, you can start sponsoring others. You need to sponsor 3 new AP purchases within 12 months of buying yours, to be able to extend your AP for free for any period of time. 3 sponsorships gives you an extra 12 months on your AP for free.

Whether everyone in your party needs an AP when booking room only onsite with AP discount appears to depend on which CM you speak to at the time of booking! Having said that, I've never been asked for my AP at check in at either the Santa Fe, Cheyenne or Newport Bay Club, when I've booked with AP discount. The room price is per room, not per AP holder (or even per person in the room - the CM just quotes you the AP price depending on how many people in your party are travelling, and their ages).

There is nowhere which advertises the Disney room only prices - you just have to phone up and ask. Its very hit and miss, in my experience, whether its cheaper to have an AP priced room, or a package. This is because with AP room prices, you don't get the special offers which come with packages - no free nights etc.

Hope this has helped - I have certainly had my money's worth out of my Dream AP :goodvibes (but I did get DD's free, and did manage to get enough sponsors to extend mine for a year as well).

Ooooh they have free AP's for under 7's till March????

Is this just for Dream AP? Or can I use this for any of the APs?

I could have spent hours reading through the AP section in the Very Useful Info Thread and still have been confused.

You have given me the answers I needed.

She is 8, so no luck with the free one. However, I still think we might just go with it because, if it comes to it and there are just the 2 of us travelling, we can always stay in the Holiday Inn (sometimes for half nothing, i.e. 53euro per room, per night) then use the AP's as much as we want.

If we decide to wait til January to get the AP's can we be sponsored by someone here, but get the AP's then over the phone? Or will we have to get them at DLRP?

Thanks for all your help.

If you apply for your AP's by phone or post, you get temporary APs, which have to be activated to become permanent ones within 30 days of you getting your temporary ones. Its much easier to stay offsite on a future trip, then buy your APs on your first day at the parks. You will have no trouble using the sponsorship discount that way.

If you pop a request on the AP sponsorship thread, I'm sure a fellow member here will be able to sponsor you :)

Again, Thank you for the info.

I might just look into a St Patricks trip.

We could fly with Ryanair from Shannon or Dublin for practically nothing & I have found a shuttle service for 45euro per person to Disneyland from Beauvais, so even taking into account the travel & transfer costs, with the AP's and staying offsite, we could go very often.

Oh Yippee!!!!
