my Harry Potter books have been shipped!

Barnes and Noble e mailed me today -- the books were shipped Federal Express and will arrive Saturday!

both girls will be at parties all day, so maybe I'll actually get to read it first?

it took me about 3 days to get through Goblet of Fire. this one's even longer. but I think I'll manage, if I get a good jump on it saturday, and if I read at night after they got to bed, I may finish at the same time the girls do.

I thought about picking up mine at the midnight party but I know I'll be up all night reading it. Not good with a 5 and a 3 year old boys running around.

We have a couple coming on Saturday. My 15 year old DD swears that she will finish it on Saturday. She is an extremely fast reader. My DW will probably only take a day also to finish.

We got the email today, too!

The thing is, I read these aloud to my kids (with voices and such) and we've read through the first 4 three times through. There is just NO WAY they are going to let me alone to read through it (in my head) -- and there is NO WAY I'm my voice is going to hold out, so we'll have to take our time reading it in chunks.

When they get to bed that night, though, I'll probably go the rest of the way through and not tell them when we pick back up the next day!

In the local paper today (Daytona Beach) they showed a picture of a local young girl and her sister reading the book - the story said they had been at a local Walgreen's buying some soda when the girl spotted some copies of this book on the shelf and showed her mom, who asked the clerk if they were allowed to buy it. The clerk told her "if it was on the shelf, it was for sale" so she bought it. (Later she said she wished she would have bought ALL of them lol!) She was so excited in the article, and promised that she wouldn't give any secrets away! Here's a link:

I'm sure that there are people who have it already all over the place - bookstores, libraries and such. I mean, stores have to be getting them before Friday midnight and get them ready for sale and who could resist?

I'm a fast reader and the last one took me four days. (Sadly, things like laundry need to be done and the children insist on being fed three times a day.) This time I'm determined to take it slower and enjoy. It could be awhile till the next one.
