My hair stinks

And the reason this is budget-related is that I bought a cheaper brand of hair gel, hoping it would work. :headache: I can't wait to wash this stuff out of my hair!!!! It has a very strong fragrance.

I normally use Biolage gelee. It works fine and I love the smell, yet every time I run low I think to myself that I need to try to find something cheaper - it's ~$15 for a 13.5 oz bottle. Yesterday I bought Garnier Fructis gel cream for $2.75. I will NOT continue to use it - besides the smell, I have a serious case of the fuzzies.

I have below shoulder length naturally curly hair that is fairly coarse. Does anyone know of a good dupe? I saw online that Sally's has one - any users? Is it a close match to Biolage? Oh - forgot to mention that I live in the humid south.

Thanks!

I have found with hair product you get what you pay for most of the time. I have resigned myself to buying redken styling products b/c they work on my hair. The discount brands equal discount quality. I have never found el cheapo anything that works on my hair as far as styling porduct. If it were me I would save myself the aggrivation and stick with biolage.

Thanks Princessmom! I guess I'm going to cave and buy it again. I don't like strong smells and it seems that most of the Walmart brands are highly scented, regardless of whether they work or not. :goodvibes

Do you have an Ulta near you? I've had good success visiting there and asking the sales people about the products. Have been led to some very good products that don't cost the earth (there is a wide variety there).

They have a points system and often have good sales so it's possible to buy ahead, those products you end up liking. :thumbsup2

I've not used Biolage, but TIGI has some wonderful products.

It's the hair though, eh? Not the product so much. What works for your hair will not work for mine, and so on. :)

I dont' know...i have frizzy hair and I blow dry it and straighten it and it smells like shampoo. There's this product by Matrix that smells wonderful...you put it on before you dry your hair and it protects it from the heat. I use Pantene....it makes my hair soft.

Stylist here! I highly recommend Silk Therapy Serum for starter, then follow with ISO Bouncy Cream.

Sadly, I don't. I live at least an hour away from an Ulta. :(

Biolage is a Matrix brand. I love the way my hair smells with my regular products, I just don't want to pay a lot of $$$ for them. :guilty:

Are these budget-friendly? As in, can I get them at Walmart? I'm looking for a more affordable product, as well as Walmart is all I have available to me in my dinky little town - not even CVS or Walgreen's. :sad1:

Thanks everybody!
