My Grandma died today

The last of my grandparents has passed on.

Kathryn turned 82 on 9/2/05. We had a picnic for her birthday on Sept. 4th. It was the last time many of us saw her. It was a happy day for all of us and she was so excited to see us all together. I'm so thankful that my last memory of her is a happy one. "Memmaw" suffered a stroke in August of 2004 and never fully recovered. It has been a tough year for her children, my mother and her sisters. My mom called this evening to say the end was near...it could be days or even a few weeks before she'd pass. Alas, not much more than an later mom called again with the news that she had gone to Heaven.

Now she is with God and the rest of the grandparents. I know all to well the sadness we feel when loved ones pass away, even when they have lived a long and full life. I am glad you had a happy last memory of her to hold on to. Hugs to you.
