I will start with the bad to get it out of the way. I joined Curves (more on that later) today, and they weighed and measured me. My scale at home weighs me 8 pounds less than the Curves scale and since the Curves scale is like a doctor's scale I trust that it is correct. I was heartbroken as I weigh way more than I thought I did:( ! I took a deep gulp when I saw the number on the scale, and then thought "What can I do about it? Nothing!" So, I wrapped my arms around it and put it into perspective. Yes, I weigh more than I thought I did, but I still have lost 15 pounds! So, I guess I'll just let it go at that and move forward.

The good news, of course, is that I joined Curves! I did my first workout today and it felt so good! I already am a regular exerciser, but mainly have been walking and doing aerobics, with a bit of light free weights thrown in for good measure. I think Curves is just the ticket to balance out my workouts, and to help me work out ALL of my body! It also helps me kickoff Alex's new challenge!

So to sum it up: I have more weight to lose than I thought I did, but I have a new way of exercising to help me lose it!

So, actually, you have good news and good news. Right?

I just love your positive attitude. I was thinking, as I read, so what if she weighs more than she thought, she still has lost 15 pounds, and then you said the very same thing. Do you think we have a psychic connection?

I believe that we bestow way too much importance to the number on that scale. Our goal is to get smaller and that's what you are doing. Way to go!

I didn't think you could become even more determined and motivated than you already were but you fooled me. You are truly determined and motivated now. You are keeping me focused on my own goal and I truly appreciate it!

Congratulations on your joining Curves, Linda. I love mine! We have all twelve machines, and I almost always go around 3 times. :D And, we weigh what we weigh. But no changing that you've lost 15 pounds!

Well done!

Wonderful news that you joined Curves and even better that you lost 15 pounds!! :) Way to go and keep up the great work! :)

That happened to me too when I got my new scale, it wieghs 6 pounds more UGH! Just keep positive thoughts. And even though the number on the scale is higher, you didn't GAIN anything. Because no matter what the scale says it is how you look and feel that really matters.

This is one reason why I don't weigh myself!!! I believe I lost about 10-15 lbs. but don't have an "accurate" measure since my scale is not reliable.

bottom line..............I feel good, my clothes fit better....therefore something must be happening in the right dirrection..........

Congratulations on joining Curves, I hear it is great. Since I started playing soccer, I can feel the difference in my legs..........exercising is great for you and can be fun too!!!

Your attitude is PERFECT...............keep it up!!

Congratulations on joining Curves, and keep up the positive attitude!!!:teeth:

Congrats on joining Curves! You will love it. My weight isn't dropping dramatically, but I can certainly notice the difference in the places I have lost inches. My Curves scale is heavier than my one at home too, so I try to stay off of the one at home. I just should throw the darned thing out with the garbage ;) That 15 pounds you've already lost will be turning into 20 in no time! You're doing awesome.
