Last night I volunteered through the GAD program as a theater usher. I spent an hour seating people and then was able to sit and watch a wonderful performance of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" - then I just went through the aisles and picked up dropped playbills and tickets and that was it. So I saw a free play to get a free ticket to Disney... I feel a little guilty! I did sign up to continue ushering with the theater, it was fun and I met some really nice people!

Well, good for you. It sounds like the theater program will benefit from you volunteering in the future, so it was good for them too! Enjoy your ticket to WDW!!!!

That is great! I think one of the best outcomes of this program will be that people will realize that volunteering can be fun and rewarding. You usually receive more benefit than you give and it will encourage folks who are new to volunteering to continue beyond this promotion!

I did sign up to continue ushering with the theater...

Which IMO is exactly the point of the whole program.

You helped out and as a result of your experience, will continue to help. Nothing to feel guilty about at all! :goodvibes

Ours was quite painless, too...but that is the assignment the place gave us, so not sure we can feel guilty about it.
